THE EVIL THING
CHAPTER 2- GOTH GIRL
IT WAS HIS sister Cassie.
"Come on!" He exclaimed, quite angry.
She laughed, "loser."
Walking our of his room, she came face-to-face with her mother.
"Do you always have to scare him, Cassie?"
"Yes."
••••
The next morning, Cassie reluctantly got up. She never enjoyed school- well she did at her last school.... Before she moved.... She had friends.
With a sigh, she put on her black jeans, black shirt, black heavy leather jacket and black gloves. She put on her shin-high black buckle up boots and headed over to her vanity.
She put on her black make-up and combed through her black hair with blue and pink streaks.
Grabbing her black book bag and placing her Edgar Allen Poe book in it, she opened up the door only to come face-to-face with her mother.
"Cassie, can't you wear something else?" she asked, holding up a pair of blue jeans and a frilly pink shirt.
"Ew. No. God mom."
"Maybe it will help you make friends."
"But I like my old friends," she told her mom as she walked out the door.
Going down the stairs, she passed her stupid younger brother. Dylan was eating his favorite breakfast meal ever- Toaster Strudels. Cassie had no idea why he enjoyed them, because they were despicable in her opinion.
Cassie grabbed a piece of toast that her dad just finished buttering and a orange juice in a bottle to go.
"Later," she yelled as she stalked out the front door.
Leaves were drifting down from trees, having a beautiful orange, red or yellow color. It was a little chilly, but Cassie did not mind; she loved autumn. Autumn was her favorite season by far.
As she walked down the still foreign streets of her new neighborhood, she felt very insecure while she hugged her blue notebook to her chest. There were still a bunch of things that she had to learn about this place.
After about five minutes of walking down multiple roads all by herself, Cassie reached her High School.
Taking a deep breath, she walked in. Slowly going to her locker, she looked down at her feet, emotionless. For some reason, nobody wanted to associate with the goth girl.
Cassie then made it to her blue locker. Putting in her combination (06-02-12), she took off her book bag and began to unpack it.
Slyly, she stole a look at Jake, the boy whose locker was only a few lockers down.
Jake was her age, and in her English class. He had windswept, dirty blonde hair and amazing hazel eyes. Cassie thought that he was amazing- but of course other girls thought so too.
"Hey, Jake," Jake's best friend, Luke said, "goth girl is looking at you."
Cassie quickly looked away and slammed her locker shut with all the force that she could muster.
"How could I be so stupid?" she muttered to herself, "Why would Jake like me?"
•••
Cassie sat in her Geometry class, which she had first period with Mr. Parker.
Mr. Parker was an ancient old man, and he had frizzy white hair on his head. His eyes were a light blue. Those blue eyes made Cassie feel as if he had seen a whole lot of things, but if that was true then he should not be here.
Ding-dong-ding!
She sat in the back of the class, so she would not be the centre of attention.
Unfortunately for her, Alena Anderson decided to take the open seat next to her.
Alena Anderson was the school's very own Regina George.
Alena had long blonde hair that always cascaded in fake beach-waves down her back and brown eyes. The make-up that she wore was like frosting, and her skin was the cake.
Cassie swore that her boobs were fake- and they probably were. She only thought this because she had overhead girls in her Science class talking about how they wanted implants like Alena Anderson does.
"Hello, Cassie," she sweetly said. Cassie rolled her eyes.
"Shut up, Alena."
Chills ran down Cassie's spine as Alena leaned close and whispered into her ear: "watch out, bitch".
"Go fuck yourself."
"Miss Brower? Miss Anderson? Is there a problem?"
Of course, Cassie thought, Mr. Parker would catch us.
"Cassie, sir," Alena began to lie, "is calling me bad words and threatened me to watch out."
"No! She threatened me!"
Mr. Parker looked directly into Cassie's eyes; he believed her.
"Unfortunately, Miss Anderson, I believe Miss Brower. Sit down before I send you to the Dean."
With a angry huff, the popular and fake girl sat down in her chair, glaring at Cassie with a look of pure loathing.
•••
Cassie managed to ignore Alena for the rest of the day- until lunch.
She had caught sight of Jake, and suddenly felt awkward as she clumsily sat down.
"Man, I have to read this book for English. I just don't get it," the boy stated to his friend Luke.
Luke had dark skin and dark brown hair in curls on his head, and he was rather short. He was shorter than her, and Cassie was considered a midget.
"I've read that book."
"You've read it? Of course you have," Luke muttered underneath his breath, receiving a slap on the back of his head from Jake.
"Maybe you could help me?"
"Sure. I'll talk to you in English, then?"
"Yeah."
As Cassie got up to throw away her garbage, she heard Luke say to his friend quite loudly:
"Woah- dude, associating with Goth Girl?"
"Don't fall her that."
"But she is. She's Goth Girl."
