Colin smiled at her, wondering how she could make one word sound so poetic, maybe it was her accent, maybe it was the way she blinked during her sentence and right after even if she didn't need to.
“You’re English?”
“Vaguely. Mostly Welsh but we stayed in Bristol anyway.” She shrugged, as nostalgia of her life back home laced their way from her words to her mind. Remembering parties with Nicola and when Katherine could be described as something other than a promiscuous and blindingly optimistic human.
“What are you doing here then?”
Katheryn turn towards him, smiling,”Is it weird the reason I'm here is what I'm escaping out here?” She could see her lights from her flat in the reflection his glasses produced and Katherine and Jim seemed like they had knocked themselves to sleep.
If she was still home in Bristol, she wouldn't have to hide out when he came back and leave before he woke up, her room had locks. Here he had managed to make sure the only locks were in the master bedroom which didn't really make a difference because the walls were still paper thin.It baffled her that Katherine would move all the way here to be with the drunkard but it was too late to pull her head out of his ass.
Colin smiled back, no longer just staring at her multiple ear piercings but at her undeniably beautiful face which her black and silver hair could not manage to hide.”A little. But its normal I guess. Everyone here seems to be running away from something.”
Katheryn suddenly hated Katherine a little less for bringing her here.
