Chapter 4

(3 hours later after the movie) "can we watch it again?" steve asked, his eyes glued to the tv screen.   nat laughed and responded, "not tonight captain america. it's like 2 am we both need to get some sleep!" steve sat up straight and smirked at nat, "oooooooo" he said moving closer to her. "not that type of sleep! cmon steve we are both exhausted and i fell asleep during the movie!!" steve sighed as she walked away into the bathroom. "but... but i didn't!!!!" steve yelled running after her. "steveeee" she turned to him laughing. "ok i'm sorry. i just want to spend every minute with you now that you are back. i'm afraid to take my eye of you nat. you're the best thing that ever happened to me and i almost lost you forever." he said reaching down and holding both her hands. they looked up at eachother at the same time and their glances met. "ok i'll tell you what..." nat said softly while still holding his hands and standing close. "I AM way to tired to have sex tonight but, if you and i both sleep without clothes that's the next best thing right?" she asked slightly joking. "i'll take it." steve responded laughing. after a few minutes they finished up in the bathroom and they were both in the bedroom. neither of them realized until now that they'd never got undressed together before. steve slowly reached for the tie on his sweatpants, leaving time for her to stop him, and untied his pants. nats hands moved down to the band of her leggings and she began to roll them down her legs. minutes later all that was left was a pair of boxers, some underpants, and a bra. neither knew who would move first. it was dead silent in the room and it was the first time since they reunited that there had been tension. but it was oddly a weird sexy tension. they both took deep breaths, feeling as though they were about to really open up to the other and he reached down to the band on his boxers and she reached back for the clasp on her bra. steve moved his underpants slowly down his legs and nat let her unclipped bra slide down her arms. he was now fully naked. she still had her underpants to go. she made a grab for the band while he watched, fully interested. right as she began to pull them down the door flew open. nat shrieked and jumped under the covers of the bed. steve was more scared by the door and it scared him so much he had fallen to the ground. "steve!" nat said worried that'd he had been hurt by the fall. she then furiously looked up at the door to see was standing there. it was none other then bruce banner. "woahhhhh!!!" he yelled when he walked in. "bruce! what the fuck!" nat screamed. "sorry sorry but my.... my uhhhh... my goldfish died!" bruce said mumbling but obviously staring at the two of them. steve now stood up and scrambled under the blanket with nat. "you're what died?" they asked in unison. "ya it's really sad. i was wondering if you guys wanted to come to the funeral. it's in five minutes?" bruce asked. "bruce listen carefully. it's 2am!!! we do not want to go to some stupid gold—" nat stopped speaking immediately when she heard a voice behind bruce. "mr hulk sir? am i in the right place for the goldfish funeral?" steve violently shook his head trying to tell bruce to say no. "yes peter. ill be there in a minute." bruce responded leaving nat and steve relieved. bruce rolled his eyes at the interruption but began to talk again, just as he open his mouth a head poked around the door frame, "mr bruce? i um got lost and—" peters eyes widened as he turned his head to see nat and steve naked in the bed together. "oh. woah!!! oh...um hi ms natasha and mr. steve" he said almost observing them. they both knew it had been an accident so they responded politely with "hi peter!" and smiled. "i can uhhh leave..." peter said hesitating, "you guys are obviously occupied" he winked at them and squealed kind of excitedly. he turned away pumped his fist and yelled "called it!!" nat and steve looked at each other and burst into laughter. seeing each other's faces almost made them forgot nats ex was watching them. steve was lost in her emerald green eyes and nat could feel the ocean in his. "umm hello?" bruce said interrupting their moment. nat snapped her head to look at him and narrowed her eyes towards him "listen bruce. i'm sorry about you're goldfish i really am. and i know we all just lost a lot in this battle ok? i really do get it. but you and me can never happen bruce." she said calmly. "no stop just stop nat ok? nobody lost more then me alright? i lost YOU nat. i lost everything when i lost you. so you can't tell me it's not a big deal ok? because i didn't sleep for a month nat, a month! i wanted to kill myself nat! i tried!!" he took deep breathes and reddened with every word. "so just don't ok?" he turned away from the door and walked away. nat glanced to steve with tears in her eyes. "go" steve said with a soft smile. "what?" nat replied confused. "go tell him it's ok nat." "steve what do you mean?" "nat i know you alright? you wouldn't sleep for months if he walked away like that. go talk to him. i can wait. i know i have you." nat turned over and kissed him on the lips "i love you" she said throwing on her robe and running out the door. "bruce!" she yelled down the hallway. he didn't even turn but kept walking. she finally caught up to him and put her arm on his shoulder. "bruce i'm so sorry. i had no idea. bruce you have been there for me forever and i am beyond grateful. but you need someone who will love you equally and i can't do that for you. and i feel awful because of that but i can't force it. i'm sorry." she held both his hands and looked at him but he avoided her stare. a tear fell from his eye and he began to talk "it's ok nat. it really is. i know you can't make it happen. i will accept that but it's so hard nat i thought you were gone" bruce said. "but i'm here now" nat interrupted him. "yes and that's still a miracle" he said smiling at her and finally looking up at her. she hugged him and his hands grasped her tightly. she felt him go hard and she started to laugh. "BRUCE!!" she laughed backing up. "i'm sorry!! i cant control it! it has a mind of its own!" he laughed walking away. he took a few steps and looked back at her and waved. she waved back and then turned to walk back to steve's.
