Chapter 6

Chapter 6:
Grayson and Emily were having an argument.

Emily: Grayson pleaseeeee
Grayson: no Emily, and that is the last no, you will hear from me
Emily: so that means the next word that's gonna come out of your mouth is yes, hopefully?
Grayson: don't play with me little girl
Emily: but it's not fair!
Grayson: life not fair, you can't always get what you want Em
Emily: you and Ethan did...
Grayson: we had to force mom to let us live this life style. Dad was okay with it, but mom wanted us to have a normal life. She didn't want our life to be exploited out so much at such a young age

Just then Ethan comes in and Emily continues.

Emily: just wait until I tell Ethan, he would listen to me
Ethan: listen to you about what?
Emily: *jumps surprised* uh...nothing
Grayson: tell him Emily, what you told me
Emily: *roll eyes* I should have asked Ethan first, he would have said yes
Ethan: of course I would, say yes to what?
Emily: can I please go to the summer kick back with Sophie
Grayson: what's that?
Emily: Sophie said every year, the school I will be attending will have a kick back at the end of the school year. So... everyone can get to know each other before the school year actually starts
Ethan: that's a good idea
Emily: so I can go?
Grayson: Emily... I told you no, we don't know what type of party this is, and if their will be any adults watching you kids
Emily: it's just a middle school party Ethan, and it goes from 8 to 10 pm
Ethan: that's not bad Grayson, at least she will be gone for 2 hours
Grayson: I wanna talk to the school first, to make sure this isn't just a scam little girl
Emily: uh... that's okay Grayson
Grayson: Emily... is their something you're hiding? You better fessed up now
Emily: okay.... no parents/adults will be their, it will just be us kids
Grayson: I thought so...
Emily: Gavin parents is out of town, and he invited a few people over to his beach house for the end of the year kick back and all the middle schoolers will be attending
Grayson: but no parents
Emily: right... so... can I go?
Ethan: well...
Grayson: Ethan... kitchen... now!
Ethan: be right back kiddo

Emily looked worried when her brothers enter the kitchen together.

Grayson: dude what are you doing? She's only 11! She's not old enough to make wise decisions on her own about what's right and wrong at a party, especially when she was lying through our faces!
Ethan: she was?
Grayson: yes!
Ethan: come on man, what can possibly go wrong at a kiddy party full of 7&8 graders
Grayson: you think I'm overreacting?
Ethan: duh, and beside Sophie will be their, and we trust Sophie to look after Emily. I don't like that she lied to us about the adult thing, but who wouldn't lie to get what they want
Grayson: that's what we are trying to teach her Ethan, to not lie to get things her away, because karma will get back at her in the long run, and I don't want that for her
Ethan: me either, but maybe that's what she needs, to be taught a lesson
Grayson: what are you thinking Ethan?

Ethan told Grayson the plan and he liked it.

Emily was done getting ready for the party, as Sophie enter the house.

Sophie: hello Dolan Twins

Grayson: don't you ever ring the bell?
Sophie: don't you ever close your doors, a lot of creeps out in California
Ethan: she's not wrong, we should probably close doors now, especially now that we have Emily living in our house, we need to keep her safe
Grayson: oh now he wants to be the responsible one

Ethan just smiled and Grayson locked the door.

Sophie: so is Emily ready?
Emily: *enters* I'm right here, bye boys
Ethan: wait a minute Em, we need to talk
Emily: what about?
Ethan: Grayson and I want to do a challenge with you tonight,
Emily: boys, I'm not in a mood a video right now
Ethan: not a video, just between us. If you can stop lying to get yourself out of trouble or get what you want, we will allow you to go out whenever you want
Emily: really? What's the catch?
Ethan: you have to tell us everything that happened at the party, no lies
Emily: will I get in trouble for it?
Grayson: if you don't lie to us than no
Emily: sweet!
Sophie: so she can't lie to you guys
Ethan: yep
Sophie: I think she can do it
Emily: I don't know, I don't think I ever went a day without lying
Ethan: that's the idea *smiles*
Emily: alright you got yourself a deal boys

She shook on it with her brothers and Grayson said.

Grayson: be safe, and don't stay out to late. Have your phone on you at all times!
Emily: yeah! Yeah! yeah!

The girls left, and Grayson said.

Grayson: excellent plan Ethan
Ethan: thanks

It came around 12am in the morning and Grayson and Ethan were worried about Emily coming home.

Grayson: see, I told you we should have given her a curfew, the party ended hours ago, where the hell is she?!
Ethan: I don't know, she's not answer her phone, and neither is Sophie
Grayson: this was a bad idea, what if something happened to them!
Ethan: relax Gray, I'm sure whatever happened to them, the girls have each other

Just then they heard the door open, and their head perked up to the noise and found Emily slowly closing the door lightly.

Ethan/Grayson: where the hell where you?!

Emily jumped at their voices and looked nervous at her brothers.

Emily: um... hi boys, I'm going to bed now, bye
Ethan/Grayson: go sit your ass down!

Ethan and Grayson looked at each other and Emily blinked nervously before sitting down in the family room.

Grayson: alright, young lady start talking
Emily: I-I-
Ethan: I can't believe you would do this! After I trusted you?!
Emily: I'm sorry...
Grayson: you better have a good story to this, or your ass is mine
Ethan: same with me
Emily: *gulps* b-but you said I wouldn't get in trouble if I told you guys the truth
Ethan: oh, your not in trouble for that, your in trouble for not answering your phone when we called you! You had Grayson and I worried sick that someone had kidnapped you girls!
Emily: *nervous* I didn't want to answer your call because if I answered I would have to lie, and lost the challenge
Grayson: great plan Ethan, to bad it backfired!
Ethan: you realize that if anything happened to you tonight, I would have been responsible!
Emily: I didn't think...
Ethan: that's because you don't think before you act little girl, you only think about yourself and not those around you, and that's something you have been doing a lot since you come here
Grayson: you're are in a lot of trouble, but this would all have to wait in the morning since it's getting late, past your bedtime
Emily: I don't have a bed time...
Grayson: you do now, you're 11 years old and you shouldn't be out so late at night. I'm so disappointed in you young lady
Ethan: so am I
Emily: *looks down* I'm sorry boys...
Grayson: you better come up with a story to where you been by tomorrow, or their will be hell
Emily: yes sir, and again, I'm super duper sorry
Grayson: go

Grayson said pointing towards her bedroom, Emily looked at Ethan with teary eyes and he looked down disappointed. Emily sigh and wiped her tears with the back of hand and got up and headed towards her bedroom.

Ethan: I'm so sorry Grayson, you were right about Emily, she needs rules and lots of them
Grayson: thank you
Ethan: it could have been all my fault if something happened to her tonight
Grayson: it's not just your fault Ethan, it's mine too, I also agreed to this
Ethan: not until I convince you
Grayson: no Ethan, we are both responsible for her, and we need to learn to follow our judgement even if it's not a great idea
Ethan: *sighs* okay, but why do I feel so guilty
Grayson: because you love your sister and all you want is to keep her safe. That's how big brothers are supposed to feel
Ethan: *sighs* your right, thanks Gray
Grayson: no problem, we should probably head to bed so we can wake up early and think of a punishment for Emily, depending on her story, her punishment might change, agree?
Ethan: agree

The boys head to bed and made sure Emily was in bed, before going to sleep themselves, knowing that their little sister is safe at home.
