Ashton walks the lonely road of his life, coming to the same spot every time. Is it fate bringing him back to this place each time? He wonders if he should just end everything at this place, but a mysterious stranger arrives and makes the decision f...
The light appeared, revealing the secrets of the darkness. Ashton slowly exhaled the breathe he had been holding, not taking his eyes from the dark, statue still figure in the distance. The clothes covering the person were dark and baggy, perfectly concealing the features of the body beneath them. A dark hood drooped down their head, shielding the individuals face from the revealing light shinning from above. The strangers very presence made the atmosphere around Ashton feel threatening, as if he were prey cornered by a deprived predator.
As if the lights were taunting the little amount of sanity he had, the shadows surrounding the strange figure began to dance and shift into various shapes. They finally settled, taking the form of sinister hands with horrifying claws to complete the predator feel. Like bullets from a gun, they shot towards him with malicious intent, he knew.
Ashtons body reacted on instinct, forcing him to flee from the looming threat. As he was running, a deep, raspy voice called out to him. "Why are you running? Isn't this what you wanted?" The voice echoed in his head likeit was a part of his own thoughts. "Want this? What the hell is that psycho talking about?" The view from the bridge came back to his mind almost immediately. the calm waters and the beautiful moon were reaching out to him.. so welcoming... "No. What am I thinking? That Isn't what I want."
He stopped for a second to rest when he could no longer hear any noises behind him. He turned to take a look, sucking in gulps of fresh, cold air as quickly as his lungs would allow. Nothing but the always flickering lights were in the distance. With a sigh of relief, Ashton bends forward and props himself up with his hands on his thighs. A small laugh escapes his lips. "You really are crazy. who would be following you of all people?" He breathes out. "And a person controlling shadows at that? Come on, Ashton. Get you'r shit together. They're just hallucinations from the anxiety... I just need to take my pills."
Rising up, he examines his surroundings to gauge how much further his house was.
Above him was the light that had just blown out just a few days ago. Below him was the mirrored image off the night sky, now slightly rippled from a fish breaking the surface. His feet were planted firmly on the ground, but his heart was racing, and his breathing was quickening, pushing him towards a panic attack as he wondered,
How the hell is this possible?
