"Why so grim?" That same deep, raspy voice questioned, appearing right beside his ear.

A cool gust of wind rushed by, increasing the chill of fear that was clawing up his spine. His mind wanted so much for him to turn and look at the mysterious person standing beside him, but he forced his body to remain still.

"This is all in my head. It's only a hallucination... only a hallucination..." he kept whispering to himself.

"A hallucination... or maybe.. a nightmare?" Rhe frightening voice whispered.

"This can't be happening. This isn't real." Ashton continued, his voice growing meeker with each word, and shaking with fear.

He squeezed his eyes together with more force, making the tears that had been building up slip out and stream down his face.

"Why so sad?" The voice questioned, the tone resembling anger more than compassion.

Strong, ice cold hands gripped the sides of Ashtons face, turning him towards the stranger. Against his better judgement, he allowed his eyes to open and gaze upon the person who was doing all these horrid things to him.

Another gust of wind came and went, taking with it the hood that was covering the mystery man's identity.
The bright, ethereal glow of the moon shunned down on the man before Ashton, giving his already disturbing features some equally terrifying shadows.

The mouth of this.. monster.. was resting, not at the bottom of his face, but at the top where his forehead should be. The frightening feature was stuck in an exaggerated frown that made it appear as a wicked smile. This persons face was completely reversed, with his dead, grey and black eyes resting below his nose. Though his features were flipped, his height made it so he was still eye to eye with Ashton.

The monster leaned forward, his mouth barely moving as the words trickled out. "Now, now.. Let's turn that frown... Upside down."

The menacing words hardly had time to register in his mind before the forceful hands began to turn his head. A scream began to tear its way out of Ashton's throat, but was quickly silenced by the crack of his neck as the stranger twisted his head upside down.

"Now.. we match. Now.. we're happy." The sinister choice stated, releasing Ashton's head and letting his limp body fall to the calm, welcoming embrace of the water below.
