I've spent my whole life up here, following the rules and being friendly. It's a nice life... Or afterlife. I like to sit on a cloud and smooth out my feathered wings, the silky texture glides over my fingers and makes me feel calm. There's always a smell of cooking, strictly no meat, why kill an animal for your own selfish desires the others say. I don't mind, tofu is pretty good once you get used to it.

I wondered around one day, the clouds spilled between my toes and my wings were tucked up behind me so I don't hit anyone, it was the first day I was to be sent to the surface. I went over his words over and over in my head. "examine your surroundings, learn how they live, if it's unsalvagable we'll just start over again" I had to go to the entrance first to get down there, I could hear my heart beat in my ears and my blood felt like electricity. Excitement and nerves filled my head so the brightness seemed more blinding than usual. It was actual happening. As soon as I opened the entrance I appeared in a whole new world, familiar as a distant memory. I could no longer feel the weight of my wings or the soft heat from my halo.
