Pov switch
Sat there I watched them pulling jackets tighter around themselves. I did the same with my hoodie but it was just an act. Don't want to draw suspicion. I'd been sat there a while already but I just didn't want to get up. I know it sounds creepy but I like people watching, humans are hard to imitate so I need all the help I can get.

Eventually I pushed myself up, fiddling with my lip piercing. I pulled my hood up which pushed my hair into my eyes, annoying but an inevitable. I decided to go to a pub for a bite to eat, I wasn't in any rush to get back to my s***hole apartment. There was a cute little one nearby so I didn't have to put much effort in to get there. I swear I'm not lazy, I just have days where moving is a chore.

Right as I was about to push the door open there's a flash of light from a side street right next to me. Honestly it startled me, we get flash bangers but not in broad daylight! I swing around the corner and what do I see but a girl, kneeling in a puddle and blinking rapidly. Her dress spread out around her like a white blooming flower, she had midnight black hair and olive skin. Of course I was startled, I thought she'd been flash banged or some s***. She looked around, her eyes brimming with tears and for the first time in my life... I felt the need to help a stranger...

I kneeled down to her and held out a tissue to her, she looked at me and her eyes widened, even kneeling I could tell I was a lot bigger than her.

"hey, it's okay. Are you hurt? What happened?" I pressed the tissue into her hand "take your time"
She dabbed at her eyes timidly and looked back up at me "I um... I... I..."
"breathe, I'm not going to hurt you, your dress it soaked." I carefully lifted her out the puddle, put her on her feet and tried to dry her dripping legs with a tissue to no avail.
"I-I just... Got here..." her skin turned a light pink under her scattered freckles that lay across her nose and cheeks. "w-what's your name mister?"
Okay, I have to admit it, I did laugh. I didn't mean to but her innocence was just adorable. I know she meant no offence by it and luckily, I wasn't hurt by it.
"I'm a woman, my name's Taylor. It's an easy mistake, don't worry about it"
"I'm so so sorry, I didn't meant to-"
"I said don't worry about it, what's your name m'lady?"
She turned a darker pink "amari, nice to meet you Taylor"
"likewise" I glanced down at her shuffling feet and saw they were bare and dirty, pink from the cold "holy s***! Why aren't you wearing any shoes! Are you mad!"
She looked at me, puzzled. "why would I need shoes?" she was clearly shaking, I touched her arm and it was freezing cold, goosebumps all over it. I wrapped my hoodie around her and picked her up so she wouldn't cut her feet on any sharp rocks.
"come on, I'll get you some lunch and some shoes to keep your feet safe and warm"
So we went into the pub, her bright red and soaken in all white with the exception of my grey hoodie and me full of piercings and covered with dark clothing carry her effortlessly. We must have looked a sight.
