The day started out as a normal Saturday for James Potter. He was the first to wake up in his dorm, the full moon had been two days prior and all the boys were exhausted, but James liked Saturday mornings to go out to the Quidditch field and practice on his own. He liked to clear his head, and he really needed that time for himself, he was in his fifth year, also known as the OWLs year. He was only two weeks into the school year and he was already overwhelmed with homework. Luckily for him and his friends, Remus Lupin was quite smart and didn't mind helping them out. And besides the exams that would take place at the end of the year, he had also made captain of the Gryffindor Quidditch Team. He was a skilled player, he had been the first player in Hogwarts history to make the team in his first year. So that's what he was doing, walking towards the quidditch pitch when he heard a melodic voice singing a song he had never heard before.

'Someone must have written it. It's quite beautiful' he thought. But as soon as he saw what was actually happening, anger quickly made its way into his mind. Some Hufflepuff boy was serenading Lily Evans, and she had a smile on her face. A smile he wished he could cause. But since the second year, the only reactions he could get of her were profanities and eye rolls. And this boy, whom he had never noticed before, was there with his stupid guitar and his stupid angel eyes and his stupid voice, swiping the girl he had been in love with since his first year of her feet.

In a rage, the Gryffindor boy turned around and made his way back to his dorm waking up his friends in the process.

"Guys wake up!" he said entering the room receiving no response.

"GUYS!" he screamed this time.

"What the fuck do you want Prongs?" Sirius asked annoyed with his best friend.

"I think Lily has a boyfriend." he said quite sad. That woke them up.

"What do you mean she has a boyfriend? She hasn't told me anything, I didn't even know she liked someone. Who's the lucky guy?" Remus asked, sad for his friend but happy that Lily had found someone.

"Don't know his name, but he's a Hufflepuff and I don't like him!" James pouted

"Have you ever talked to him?" Peter asked

"No! What does it matter?" he asked upset with his friend

"If you never talked to him, how do you know you don't like him? He could be a good guy." Peter answered

"C'mon guys. If James doesn't like him neither do we. It's in the marauders' code. If a marauder doesn't like someone, especially if that someone likes/ is dating the person said marauder likes, no other marauder can like that someone." Sirius said backing up James

"That's quite a long rule but fine. Prongs, what do you wanna do about him?" Remus asked.

"I want to break them up, obviously! So Padfoot and Wormtail, you guys are on reckon. Get close to him, figure him out. Remus, you talk to Lily, see what she thinks of him. And I'm gonna do something that I never thought I would ever do. I'm gonna talk to Snivellus, see what he knows." James said making everyone in the room gasp.

"Are you for real? Are you really gonna talk to that git?" Sirius asked

"I have too. The enemy of my enemy is my ally. And I have a feeling that that snake doesn't really like the badger." James said.

"James, just so you know this is your mission. I don't want to ruin my friendship with Lily. I'm doing this because you're one of my best friends, but if Lily starts to suspect anything, I'm out." Remus told the boy

"She won't even know what's happening"

Those words would come back to bite him in the ass.
