Chapter 2

"I can't believe your back." Mandy said. Her real name is Amanda, but she perfers it when people call her Mandy. She has been my best friend since grade school.  don't know what I'll do without her.

''It was only for couple of days,'' I said, "nothing really serious."

"Well, a couple of days are a huge amount of days to miss out on so much gossip." Mandy and I were different in so many ways. Fro example, she liked gossip while I perfered no drama.

"Oh really?" I said, taking a seat on my bed.

"Yeah, you wouldn't belive what happend the otheer day." She said, pacing around my room.

"Okay, what happened?"

"You know Alice?"

"The mime?"

"Yeah"

Alice the mime is one of the girls at our school. She really weird and its hard tell what she's thinking. We call her "The Mime" because she speaks more with her body language then her words. Which is not a problem, but when you do too much it make other uncomfortable.

"She on the cheerleading team."

"What?" I said, shocked.

"Yeah," Mandy nodded, "She made the team."

"I cannot believe it."

"I didn't belieave it either, but it's true."

Every summer our school would have a summer cheer-leading tryout. They couldn't do it during the school year because it was so inconvenient. So, instead of having 5 minutes in the gym to audition, these girls have a week to prove themselves.

"Didn't you try out?" I asked.

"Yeah, I didn't make it."

"You should have."

"I know," She taking a seat at the desk,  "She didn't even deserve it."

"She made the team instead of you, didn't she?" I asked.

"Yeah."  Too bad for Mandy, she won't be a cheerleader this year.

"There is something else." I stated.

"More than you  know."

"Spill it."

"Noah broke up with me." She said in a wavering voice.

"I'm so sorry, is his loss not yours."

"He didn't even tell me why, he just broke up me." She said controlling her voice.

"He just said that life is complicated and that I was making his life more of a complication."

"So, he did tell you why he's breaking up with you?"

"He told me I was a complication Tab." She cried.

"What a jerk."

"You know I really loved him." She said wiping her eyes with a tissue.

"Did you tell him that?"

"I told him that, but it was useless."

"Maybe he doesn't feel the same way."

Maybe that's why he broke up with me." She sighed.

"I'm such an idiot."

"No, your not."

The next day, was the first day of my junior year. Anxious, I waited by my locker looking for Mandy. We both agreed that we would wait for each other before class started. Class starts in the next five minutes and Mandy was nowhere to be found.

"Tab.." Someone tapping my  shoulder, I turned automatically.

"Mandy, you scared the living day lights out of me."

"The living daylights Tab?" She said as she pulled out her her schedule.

"Yeah."

"Sorry." She shrugged. " So what classes do you have?"

"Um.." I said, pulling out my schedule. "Art and Appreciation, English, Math, and Gym."

"Ugh." She groaned. "You suck. I have Music, Math, English, then Gym."

"At least we get to see each other in Gym." I said as we started walking to our class.

"But that's like at the end of the day."

"That's fine with me. Now I don't have to see your face." I said, laughing.

"Your such a bitch." She said playfully shoving me.

"But you love me."

"Whatever Tab." Mandy said as she walked down the corridor to class. Once she left I walked towards my classroom. Something was telling me that I was going to knocked down on any given moment. I knew where it was gong to  happen and how. However, I wasn't going to let that happen.
