Nova's POV
The fly to the pharmacy wasn't too bad, especially since I didn't have to avoid fairies and carry a heavy human.
"What is all this for?" the fairy at the desk, who I believe name is Twinkle, asks staring at the multiple poorly made bandages and first aid kit. Normally, fairies don't need this kinda of stuff so it was probably weird seeing a fairy with it.
"Um..I hurt my foot when going to get a few things for some potions" I nod, hoping she doesn't see past my white lie. Her eyes trace over my face for a minute before she puts the items into a small bag made mostly of green leaves that were sewed together. I hand her my coins and then fly out of the store.
I slam the door shut purposely as I get into my house to let Cassie know that I am back home. While I shuffle down the small narrow hallway, I shout to her when I didn't get a "I'm in here" or something along those lines, just to make sure she's okay. "Cassie? I'm back with the supplies!"
As I enter into my living room, I notice her sitting on the couch. I let out a slight breathe of relief.
Cassie turns and looks at me, her cheeks red and tear stained. "A-are you okay?" I ask, looking down at my feet. I've never been good with people who are sad or anything, so this shall be fun.
"Y-yeah, just in pain" she smiles a fake smile. I sigh and walk over to her, placing the leaf-bag onto the rock coffee table and then opening it up. "Put your foot on the table" I order. She obeys, placing her foot on it and continuously moves it around, trying to make it comfortable. I place my hand on it, trying to keep it still but only making her flinch.
"Sorry," I apologize and then bring my hand back to my side. "I'm not the best at broken feet and things, just a heads up" I awkwardly tell her.
I try my best not to hurt her as I carefully wrap the bandage around her foot. As soon as I finish, I look up from her foot and flash her a reassuring smile. "All better..I think." I softly chuckle as she moves her foot around carefully getting used the bandage.
"Thanks" she smiles. I nod in response and then scratch my head, unsure of what to do next. The sound of rumbling fills my ears, breaking the silence.
"Um, I'm kinda hungry" she says looking down at her stomach. I giggle softly but then stop as she shoots me a glare.
"I'll make us some dinner" I say and walk off into the kitchen.
After I finish, I grab a tray and place the bowl of stew on it with some water. Cassie grins happily as I place the food on her lap. "Um, what is it?" she asks uncomfortably. "Water and mushroom stew" I tell her. Don't tell me humans have different food also.
She nods and takes her first bite, she chews for a minute but then her eyes widen. "This is good!" she says, looking at me in astonishment. I smile, "isn't it?"
After we finish dinner, we watched TV for a few minutes before I notice the sound of slight snoring. I look over to Cassie, giggling softly as I see her huddled in a ball sleeping. I take a moment to take in each of her features, noticing the ones I didn't notice when I first seen her. I took in the way her almost fading tanned skin shimmered in the dim lighting, the way her pretty long curly brunette hair fell over her eyes as she slept, her freckles planted in the perfect places under her eyes, just basically how pretty she is.
I suddenly stopped myself. I shouldn't be admiring her or calling her pretty, I barely know her! For all I know she could be someone sent here to kill everyone!
I got up and carefully picked her up bridal style, making sure she doesn't wake up. Crap! I don't have anywhere for her to sleep! Before I knew it, I was taking her into my room and carefully placing her onto my bed. I pull the cover up over her, pushing the hair out of her eyes before leaving my room.
-----
I'm woken up by the sound of the horn going off. Oh no! I'm gonna be late for work! I jump up off of the couch and run into my room, jumping slightly as I see Cassie in my bed. I then remember everything that happened yesterday. I open my dresser drawer quietly, pulling out a black shirt, some jeans and a scarf. I start undressing but then pause as I hear quiet giggling coming from behind me. Of course she awakens when I am getting dressed.
I turn around slowly with my arms crossed, trying to fight off the blush starting to form on my cheeks.
"Nice underwear" she laughs. I look down and sigh.
"Stop looking will you!" I say annoyed, trying to hide my rose red cheeks. She closes her eyes and I turn around, putting on my clothes.
"You where looking the whole time, weren't you" I ask in an annoyed tone when I turn around seeing her eyes open. She tilts her head to the side and frowns stupidly. "What are you talking about?"
I roll my eyes. "I'm gonna be late for work!" I start running out the door and then wind up flying full speed towards the stone elixir building.
"Hello, Nova. Late now are we?" Mr. Alfred says in annoyed tone with his eyebrows raised. "Yes sir, I'm sorry. I slept in. I was up a little late last night" I explain. He sighs, "okay. I want you to make a love potion today, you should have the ingredients and mixes memorized already."
I nod my head and retrieve my apron.
After what felt like 5 minutes, I finally finished my potion and turned it into the elixir shop and got to go home.
"Cassie? I'm home!" I yell after taking off my shoes. "In the kitchen!" Cassie yells back.
I walk into the kitchen to find her digging in the cup boards. "Looking for something?" I ask, placing my bag on the stone counter.
"Food" she shrugs, "have anything besides mushrooms and weird plants and flowers?"
"Eh, nope" I answered truthfully. She sighed loudly, "well can you go to the store and get something?"
I shook my head, "I'll make something good for you" I say walking over to the fridge and taking out leaves and mushrooms. "Fine."
After a few minutes later, we where sitting on the couch chattering about random things.
"Can we talk about a few serious things?" I asked, she nodded uneasily. "Tell me a bit about yourself, where are you from? Where are those scars from? How did you get here?"
"Well, lets start simple. I'm from the real world. I'm seventeen. I got these scars from a few things, once from a razor when I was five, um another from the edge of a bed, and one from tripping over a rock. I wasn't the most popular kid in school, I had a few friends and I was a straight A student since Middle School. How I got here- well, I was camping with my parents and kinda ran away because I was angry, fell down a hole and then wound up- here, In Crystalwood."
It took a minute to take everything in, the last part taking me by surprise. A hole? More humans could come into Crystalwood! I need to tell someone about this without giving her away!
"How about you?" she questions, breaking me out of my worry trance.
"Um, well, where to start, I'm 18, work at an Elixir Shop, and didn't really go to school. I came here when I was 5. I was trying to run away from home, and fell into here. When I was found I was sent into a dungeon for about 5 or 6 years where I was even more abused then when I was at home.."
"You where abused!?" she asks, her eyes widening. I nod, my heart dropping into my stomach as I continue.
"I was ever since I was two after my step-dad came along. And while I was in the dungeon, I kind of became depressed and suicidal," I push up my sleeve, showing the scars left from my step dad and blades, "it was a pretty hard time" I explain.
Cassie stops what she's doing and pulls me into a tight hug. "I'm so sorry."

(A/N That ending, kinda dramatic am I right or am I right? Anyway, this chapter was basically explaining their backstories and them basically devoloping their relationship and Nova starting to crush on Cassie. I hope you guys like it! <3 ~Grace)
