September 5:00PM – Basil

I was working. Like, really working. I hadn’t read the last post card from Holly, even though she told me to read one a day. It was torturous, because I knew exactly when she got it. The day she left.

Looking into the reasons people act as they do, it helped me understand not just Holly, but the people around me so much better. I felt like I could actually deal with people, just two weeks into the class.

I could see why Lucy avoided eye contact with me, and I understood and even more so I knew it would be best to leave her alone to figure it out.

And Jasper, why he was so moody. He was the funniest because I now knew that he wasn’t really. Just that he had been trying to be for so long and he wasn’t sure how to shake it. I silently prescribed him fun and made sure he went to at least one social setting a day.

Well, it was closing in on October and I had an hour to get to my next class. I picked up the postcard that had been sitting at my bedside for weeks, and flipped it over.
