So, in this life, we all have a red string. Our red string connects us to our soulmates. No, it isn't like, "You meet your soulmate and you're automatically connected." You and your soulmate connect when you fall in love with the one. Usually, you gain your string when you turn 21 until you fall in love with your soulmate your string is broken.
Some people don't fall in love with their soulmate so their strings never connect. People who do that, however, aren't like other people and ya know how the world works. People are afraid of people who are different. These people do however gain another string for every person they fall in love with.
Some people fall in love with their soulmates, but their soulmate doesn't love them back. When that happens their red string falls off. They can gain another string, but that all depends on if the person falls in love with someone again.
Some people are born without strings but can still fall in love. Once that happens they can gain a string.
Once you are connected with your soulmate your string can only go so far, the farther you pull your string, the more pain you receive. You don't die, but you will be in extreme amounts of pain. The length of your string depends on how good your relationship is. If you are fighting, your string will be shorter. Basically, telling you that you need to figure this out. If it's going really well the longer the string is.
The string can reach up to two or 3 cities away. But, again... that depends on how well your relationship is.
I'm Eren and I have a red string tied around my right pinky and currently, I'm moving into a house a few towns away from home.
"Is that the last box?" I heard Armin ask as I walked out of the door and to the moving truck.
"Yep, that's the last of it. It's finally happening Armin. We finally got our own house!" I yelled as I closed the back to the truck. Armin was born without a string and hasn't fallen in love yet. Mikasa was already over at the house making sure we could fit everything in the new house. Mikasa's string was connected with a girl named Annie. They have been dating for a while now and Annie just got an apartment in this town so it worked out perfectly.
We climbed into the truck and started on our journey to our new house. We had been packing and getting the new house ready for months now. It seemed almost surreal as we started our half an hour drive to Shinganshina. The broken red string around my thumb dangling slightly.
...
Finally, we arrived at the new house. The outside was a pale yellow with long white windows surrounding the house. It had a cute little entryway that led to the left into an open kitchen, dining room, and living room. To the right, there was a bathroom and a small office. A stairway to the top floor making itself prominent in the middle of the room.
The 3 of us unloaded boxes all day until everything was unpacked and the truck was completely empty.
"We should say hi to the neighbors then, get a feel for the neighborhood," Mikasa said and we all agreed. She has a point. We know nobody out here. Except for Jean and his boyfriend Marco. They live next door. That's part of the reason we bought this place. They have been connected since high school. They are a really cute couple.
We ordered pizza and fell asleep on the two couches we had splayed out. Armin on the floor, Mikasa one couch, and me on the other.
The next day we all got ourselves situated. I picked one of the smaller rooms upstairs. It was a cool gray color with a dark brown wooden floor. I put up my bed and dresser, put away my clothes, and set out my decorations.
Once I had laid down for a bit I decided it was time to go visit the neighbors. It was a little late. Maybe around 8 pm, but I have nothing better to do. Since I already knew Jean and Marco and kept walking until I got to the house after Jeans.
It was a small cozy house with a beautiful garden.
I knocked lightly on the door and after a minute or so I thought nobody was home so I went to turn around to leave.
As I turned around to leave I heard a low raspy voice, somewhat muffled.
"Oi, brat. What do you want?" His voice was deep but I turned around to see what muffled his voice.
I saw a shorter man with smooth black hair, he had an undercut that suited the shape of his face. A toothbrush was hanging out of his mouth. His eyes were a cold silver that gave me a familiar feeling, but I brushed it off and stretched out my hand to him.
"Hey there, I'm Eren. I just moved in a few houses down." I smiled hoping he wasn't as rude as he seemed. As I grasped his hand I realized the broken string hanging from his pinky finger.
"Levi. Now if you don't mind I was in the middle of something."
"Oh right. Sorry. I'll leave you be. Um, here's my number, call me if you need anything. Like an emergency or something. Or just to talk. I really don't mind." I told him while pulling out a piece of paper I had previously put in my pocket just in case.
I smiled cheekily as he took the piece of paper and put it in his back pocket.
"Uh. Thanks. Goodbye." He said and turned around back into his house.
Well, that went well.
Hint the sarcasm.
He was hot though, his eyes were a piercing silver, his hair was jet black, and what he was wearing too. He wore sweat pants that were too long for him, with no shirt on. He had a beautiful chest and stomach, and his v-line looked absolutely stunning.
But there was something about him that made me feel like I knew him. Like I knew him from somewhere.
I racked my brain trying to figure out where or how I knew him, but once I got inside my house it was quickly forgotten when Armin, Mikasa, and I all started a movie.
