Ch. 3

Eren's POV~

I was laying in bed scrolling through my phone when I saw a message pop up on my screen. It was from an unknown number. I clicked on it and read over the message.

It was Levi! I didn't think he would be contacting me so soon but it looks like I was wrong.

I quickly read over the message. He wanted my help tomorrow unloading boxes at his cafe. And in return, he would show me around town. Of course, I said yes. How could I turn down someone that cute?

*Cute Guy*

L- Hey, this is Levi from down the street. I know this is sort of sudden, but I own a small cafe downtown and one of my employees quit last week. He helped me with unloading heavy boxes from the stock truck. I'm not that strong and have a lot of trouble bringing them inside the shop would you mind helping me out? Maybe in return, I could show you around town when the morning manager comes in?

E- Of course. I'd love to help out! What time?

L- 6 am, I know it's a bit early but since it's a coffee shop we open pretty early. And the coffee I need for the morning rush is almost completely out so I need to get the boxes unpacked as quickly as possible.

E- Sounds good to me. How was your day?

I hoped my attempts at starting a conversation were working because I really wanted to get to know him better. He looked fragile. I had this overwhelming sense that I needed to take care of him. He may not have been so nice when we first talked earlier this evening, but I believe he's actually a very caring guy. He didn't look rude. I still couldn't shake the feeling that I knew him from somewhere though. His eyes and his hair reminds me of someone I can't quite remember. Ever since the accident, I wasn't able to remember much.

L- It was actually pretty good, how about you?

E- My day was great. I got moved in, met my cute new neighbor, watched a movie. Overall pretty good.

L- Am I the cute new neighbor? I hope you aren't talking about the other neighbor. He looks like a horse.

E- Yes, you are. And thank you, at least now I know I'm not the only one who thinks he looks like a horse.

I waited a few moments before he responded.

We found out so much about each other, the more we got to know each other the more excited to meet him at his cafe. He was so cute and innocent. He was so caring.

I found myself staring at my phone for the replies to my questions.

His favorite color was black, he loves horror movies even though they scare him shitless, everything he says is adorable. I still can't forget the fact that he seems familiar to me somehow, but I just brush it off my shoulder.

I found myself eager to see him.

~Levi's POV~

He called me cute.

I put my hands over my face to conceal the hotness of my cheeks. I can't believe he said that. I tried to sound like I wasn't absolutely freaking out over what he said.

L- Well, thank you for the compliment.

E- You're welcome. You deserve it.

L- What movies did you watch?

I asked and our conversation led on from there. We talked for hours on end.

I learned his favorite color, his favorite movies, his favorite animal.

L- So, I feel so bad asking this, but I totally zoned out when you told me your name earlier today.

I rubbed my neck hoping he wouldn't find me weird.

E- Haha, my name is Eren Jaeger.

I threw my phone on the coffee table, immediately picking it back up and making sure I didn't crack it.

To my surprise, it wasn't broken. A tear started to form in my eye. I turned away from Erwin who was watching a movie on my couch to wipe it away.

"Levi, are you okay?" He paused the movie and asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine," I said and he grabbed my phone out of my hand to read the message.

"This is great Levi! He is the kid you used to watch. Now you guys can get married and have cute little kiddos." Erwin yelled at me.

"Erwin. Go home." I said as I glared at him. He sighed knowing he was going too far for where my brain was at and he left.

I made some tea and sat down on my bed with a nice soft blanket covering me. I picked up my phone to reply to the text.

"I know you. I know that sounds sorta creepy but I can explain it all tomorrow morning." I told him and sighed at how stupid I felt when sending that.

"I got that feeling that I knew you from somewhere too, so I'm looking forward to tomorrow." H said back and I felt immense relief flood through me.

"Goodnight Eren." I typed and a minute later I got a response.

"Good night Levi, sleep well."

I fell asleep anxiously awaiting tomorrow morning when I could see Eren again.
