Nick was back at the scene, religiously analysing every single piece of evidence. Checking and double-checking it. "you ok there Nicky?" said Catherine gently as she entered the house.
Nick turned around and looked at her.
"why?" Nick whispered tears starting to flow. Catherine hugged him as he cried.
They were quiet for a few minutes. Then Catherine broke the silence "come on Nicky we have to be strong now for the others we have to find this bastard"
Nick wiped his tears and nodded. Together they processed the scene.
A few minutes later Nick heard Catherine shout. He went out into the back garden. She was behind the shed holding a baseball bat covered in blood and mud."this could be the murder weapon" Catherine said with disgust. Nick just stared at it anger rising in his chest like a volcano about to erupt.
