It's the start of September now and Donghyuck has now transferred to online school weather than his mom teaching him. He and Mark have actually made the long, but not that long, distant relationship work. They'd face time every day, wish each other good nights and good mornings, and exchange their occasional 'I love you's.
Today, was not Donghyuck's day. The first thing he did this morning was throw up. He told his parents and his mother took his temperature that had indicated he had a fever of 101 which sent him right back to bed.
He wasn't complaining, he'd rather spend his amazing weekend sick and in bed and throwing his guts out. He really wasn't, he'd learn that Jaemin and Jeno lived close by and they had made plans to hang out but guess they had to rain check.
Donghyuck grumbles as he rolls himself into a burrito after texting the couple about his sickness which got him a "Get well soon!" text from both of them. His mom came in with a bowl and Donghyuck looked over with his red nose. "I made you, soup, eat up," She says, giving a warm smile.
Donghyuck sat up, despite his weak body protesting, and took the soup giving a sick but sweet smile. She gives a smile and sets the ice-cold water bottle down on his end table before leaving. He turned the TV on as he started on his soup, slowly. He switched through the channels, trying to find something that is at least good to watch. He ended up just watching, "We Bare Bears". He wasn't complaining, he enjoyed the show. He especially related to Panda.
After some time alone in his room after finishing his soup and drinking half of the bottle he was given, his mom came in to hand him his medicine. "Oh, there is a boy here for you," She says after Donghyuck took his medicine. "Really? But I told Jaemin and Jeno they couldn't come over," Donghyuck says, his eyebrows furrowing before coughing. "I think you forgot someone," She smiles and leaves only to have a familiar figure to show up in the doorway.
"I would get up and hug you but I'm afraid I might fall,"
Mark lets out a laugh as he closes the door and sets his guitar case down. He walks over and sits at the edge of the bed and caresses Donghyuck's cheek. "You forgot to tell me," Mark says. Donghyuck giggles but coughs, covering his mouth of course. "I know, I sorta blanked on that," Donghyuck says. Lucky, Mark was wearing sweatpants and a sweatshirt since he already had plans of just having a chill first visit with Donghyuck.
Donghyuck smiles at the older who was spacing out with a smile on his face. "You're spacing out, Simba," Donghyuck says, bring his boyfriend back to reality. Mark smiles brightly and moves Donghyuck's bangs to kiss his forehead. "As much as I would love to kiss you, I don't want to be sick," Mark says crawling over Donghyuck to lay next to him. "Markie," Donghyuck whines, holding the older's sweatshirt. "Yes?"
Donghyuck tugs the male's sweatshirt with a pout on his lips. "Please?" Mark chuckles and takes his sweatshirt off, thankful he had a shirt on underneath. Donghyuck smiles and sits up to slip in on. "Wait, I'm missing that shirt too," Mark says as Donghyuck settles his head on the older's chest and wrapping his arms around the older's waist.
Donghyuck giggles and puts the covers over him. "Oops," Mark sighs and rubs the younger's back with a smile placed on his lips. "It's fine, I didn't miss it anyway," Donghyuck giggles and they fall into silence as they fixed their attention to the TV that was playing the childish, yet enjoyable, cartoon.
Mark's eyes widen as Donghyuck quickly untangles himself from him and runs to his connected bathroom. Mark waited a few seconds before getting out of bed and walking to the bathroom. He frowns at the younger who was resting his head against the toilet bowl. Mark walks over and squats down next to him and rubs his back, soothingly. "Are you hungry?" Donghyuck nods his head as he stands up and flushes the toilet. He walks over to the sink and washes his mouth out.
Mark walks over and rests his head on the younger's shoulder. "Is there anything you want to eat? I'll go get it for you," Donghyuck lets a small smile come across his face at his boyfriend's suggestions. "Can I have Mcdonalds?" Mark smiles and nods his head.
He picked him up, bridal style, and walked him to the bed. He set him down and sat on the edge of the bed and pulled his phone out. "What do you want to eat, sunshine?" Mark asks. After getting his order, Mark kissed his forehead and went to the front door. "Leaving so soon?" Mark looks at the female and he shakes his head. "No ma'am, I'm just getting him food," She smiles brightly at him. "Isn't he lucky to have you," Mark chuckles and nods his head. "And I'm lucky to have him, ma'am,"
Mark comes back to notice Donghyuck's parents gone. He slips his shoes off and locks the door before making his way to the younger's room. "Sunshine, I'm back," Mark says walking over to the spaced-out younger. Donghyuck looks at Mark and a smile jumps up to his face bring a small amount of color back to his face.
"Got exactly what you wanted, plus a little something extra in the freezer," Mark says as Doghyuck digs out his food. "Thank you," Donghyuck turns Mark's head to kiss his cheek. "How long are you here for?" Donghyuck asks. "I leave tomorrow, I got here Friday," Donghyuck hums and eats his food, smiling and closing his eyes in satisfaction.
Mark sits back where he was before and Donghyuck continued to eat slowly not wanting to upset his stomach. "What was your plan for today?" Donghyuck asks, throwing his burger wrap away in his trash can. "Go to the movies than get ice cream," Mark says, shrugging his shoulder. "Were we going to watch Dora?" Donghyuck asks, his eyes lightening up. "Yeah," Mark chuckles, kissing Donghyuck's forehead. "If you feel better tomorrow, we'll go,"
Donghyuck nods his head and settles into Mark's side while eating his fries.
