7||Sunshine's Birthday

Donghyuck woke up and rubbed his eyes. He sat up but fell back on the bed when 5 people tackled him into a hug. "Happy Birthday!" They all said. Donghyuck giggles and they get off.

Donghyuck sat up and looked around. "Where's-" his sentence was cut off by the cabin door open. "Simba!" Mark chuckles as he hugs the birthday boy. "Happy Birthday, sunshine," Mark chuckles. "Wait, what happened to your hair?" Jaemin asks. "When Eunjun dumped that paint on me, some of it stayed in my hair,"

Mark chuckles and ruffles his hair. "You look like fruit loops," Donghyuck pouts, looking at Mark. "I know that," Everyone laughs and Donghyuck goes to get dressed. He comes back out and slips his shoes on.

They walked into the dining hall and people started clapping, scaring Donghyuck. He hid behind Mark's arm as people started chanting his name. "What's going on? Are they summoning a demon with my name," Mark laughs and shakes his head. "It's our way of celebrating someone's birthday,"

Everyone finished and everyone clapped shouting, "Happy Birthday Donghyuck!" Mark smiles and high fives the oldest counselor, Taeyong. They sat down and ate breakfast. "What do you want to do?" Mark asks.

Donghyuck shrugs his shoulder. "Paint," Mark chuckles and wraps an arm around the younger's waist. "Whatever you want," Mark says. Donghyuck smiles and continues to eat his food happily.

"Mark give me your shoe," Donghyuck says sitting down at the picnic table with paint. "Why?" Mark asks. "Cause I want to paint it," Donghyuck says. "I've painted all mine already and Jaemin's," Mark raises a brow. "I want to paint a lion on it, let me paint a lion," Donghyuck whines. Mark sighs and takes both of his shoes off.

"Look!" Mark laughs at the sketch. Donghyuck smiles and starts painting. "Hey, Mark! Wanna play?" Mark looks at the counselor, Jaehyun, and shakes his head. "I'm good," Jaehyun rolls his eyes. "Go ask Taeyong, he'll want to," Donghyuck says. Mark laughs at Jaehyun's face. "What?" Donghyuck looks up from Mark's shoes and giggles. "He's probably taking a hike, you know him," Mark says.

Jaehyun coughs and nods his head. "Y-Yeah, I'll go...find him," Jaehyun drops the football and runs off. "Does Jaehyun hyung like Taeyong hyung?" Mark nods his head. "Since the beginning, they both arrived the same year," Donghyuck hums as he continues painting. "Why did you come here?" Donghyuck asks, putting the right shoe on the other side of the table. "Parents wanted me to get out of the house,"

Donghyuck giggles and Mark glances over but the tan covered it. "What are you drawing?" Donghyuck smiles innocently. "Nothing bad," Mark raises a brow. "Continue," Donghyuck says continuing his. 

Mark chuckles. "I would stay in my room all the time trying to figure out how to play the guitar," Mark says. "You can play the guitar?" Mark hums and nods his head. "Yeah," Donghyuck smiles and starts painting. "Fun, I like to sing but I'm not good at it," Mark clicks his tongue. "Yes, you are,"

Donghyuck looks at Mark. "You haven't even heard me sing," Mark chuckles and leans forward. "You sing in the shower," Donghyuck's face heats up. "N-No I don't," Mark nods his head. "Jaemin sings along,"

The said male walks over and sits down. "Right, Donghyuck sings in the shower," Jaemin smiles. "Yeah! You have a great voice hyung!" Donghyuck ears turn red and he goes back to the shoe.

A few minutes later, Donghyuck smiles. "I finished!" Mark looks over and smiles. "A sunflower and a lion?" Mark asks. "Yeah! Better appreciate it, cause I'm not redoing it," Mark laughs and takes the shoes, putting them on and standing up. "They're cute," Mark says.

Donghyuck claps his hands and stands up. "My sketchbook got ruined by the paint, I don't know what to do," Mark smiles. "Let me go get my guitar," Donghyuck smiles and nods his head. "I'll be at the spot," Mark nods his head and watches Donghyuck runoff.

He quickly goes to the cabin and takes his guitar out from under the bed. He slings the straps over his shoulder, like a backpack, and leaves the cabin. He walked to the spot and saw Donghyuck already sitting down.

Mark walks over and sits down putting the guitar case on his lap. He took it out and set the case beside him. "Here," Donghyuck puts one of the earphones in Mark's ear while the other is in his. He scrolls through his playlist and clicks one. "This is my favorite song," Mark chuckles as the younger plays the song.

Mark smiles and starts playing his guitar with the music. Donghyuck smiles and leans his head against Mark's shoulder and started singing along. 

After a while, it was time for dinner. Mark put his guitar in the case while Donghyuck puts his mp3 player away. "See, you do have an amazing voice," Mark says standing up and helping Donghyuck up. "I guess," Mark chuckles and takes Donghyuck's hand, intertwining their fingers. "Ready for dinner?" Donghyuck looks at him confused as they start walking. "It's dinner already?" Mark nods his head. "Yeah,"

After dinner, everyone gathered around the campfire. Mark had his hand on the younger's leg while the guitar was propped up next to them. "Anyone want to sing?" Taeyong asks. "I think Donghyuck should," Eunjun smirks. "I don't feel like it," Eunjun clicks her tongue. "Are you scared?" All her friends laugh.

Mark looked at Donghyuck who was looking down. "Why don't you sing?" Mark asks, looking at Eunjun who stopped laughing.

"Well-"

Mark rolls his eyes. "What I thought," Mark grabbed Donghyuck's hand and they left. "Bravo Eunbitch," Jaemin says throwing a marshmallow at her and her friends, everyone following even Taeyong and Jaehyun.

Mark hugged Donghyuck who laid on top of him dressed in basketball shorts and one of Mark's sweatshirts. "Ignore her," Mark says rubbing his back. Donghyuck mumbles against Mark's neck as he pulled his blanket over him. "Do you want to go back out?" Donghyuck shakes his head. "Okay," Mark sits up making Donghyuck straddle his lap.

"I have something for you," Mark says. Donghyuck hums but doesn't move from his hugging position. Mark chuckles and gets out of bed, holding Donghyuck by the legs. "You're not making this easier," Mark says walking over to his bed but gets no answer. He rests the younger on his hip and glances outside.

Everyone was still outside.

Mark grabs the sketchbook and leaves the cabin, everyone's attention going to them. "Is he?" Mark nods his head and sits down, setting Donghyuck in his lap. "Yeah, he's asleep," Mark brushes the younger's bangs out of his eyes. "Jaemin told Eunjun off," Jaehyun says. "That's nice," Mark says.

Their campfire finished and everyone went back to their cabin, Jeno carrying a sleeping Jaemin. Jisung opened the door and everyone walked in. "Everyone get changed," everyone nods his head and Mark lays Donghyuck down. "Hey, wake up," Mark whispers. Donghyuck's eyes flutter open and gave a sleepy smile to Mark. He sits up and rubs his eyes. "What's up?" He asks. "You need to brush your teeth when the others are done," Mark says.

Donghyuck nods his head and rubs his eyes. "I have something for you," Mark says. Donghyuck looks at Mark with big eyes. "Happy Birthday," Mark says pulling the sketchbook out from behind his back. Donghyuck smiles brightly and takes it. "Thank you!" Mark smiles at the younger.

Donghyuck glances up at Mark then back at his book. "Do you not-"

Mark stops his sentence as Donghyuck places a kiss on his cheek. They both stare at each other, a red tint slowly dancing their ways up their cheeks. "S-Sorry," Donghyuck says pulling the covers over his face. Mark chuckles and moves the blanket down, kissing his cheek as well. "It's fine, brush your teeth and get to bed."
