*phil's pov*

"i'm really gonna do it. i'm really gonna propose to dan! i'm really nervous but i'm excited at the same time. my plan is to pretend we are filming a day in the life and set up my phone somewhere when we get to the park."

i picked up my phone and started to get a nervous feeling in my stomach. not only am i worried about proposing in general, i'm just worried about "exposing" our relationship to the world.

even though we both have come out and it's clearly obvious that we are together, it's still scary because we are such private people.

i picked up my phone and starting recording.

"hey guys! so today dan and i are going to the park for a little day in the life video!"

"but there is something he doesn't know." i started to whisper quietly, making sure dan doesn't hear me.

thankfully i was done talking by the time dan walked in the room and came up next to me.

"so phil what the hell do you have planned for us today?" he said in a annoyed tone. "we are going to the park!" i exclaimed. "that- that's it?" he said while looking at me. "yes dan, that's it." i said with a smile.

we then made our way out the door and started walking to the park. dan grabbed my hand so he could hold it but then commented on how sweaty my palms were. that started to make me nervous but i calmed myself down.

we arrived at the park and i sat down on a bench as dan went to go take pictures of the small pond. i had this moment while sitting there where this weight lifted off my shoulders. i realized in that moment, that i don't need to worry about what people will say about dan and i. dan is the love of my life and i am going to propose to him and not give a shit about what other people think.

dan started to walk back towards me. he looks so beautiful. he is perfect. i knew this was the right time. i set up my phone on the bench next to our coats.

"dan, come here!" i yelled to him. he looked at me with curious eyes. i started to talk and from then on i was numb, but liberated.

"dan, you are the love of my life. i've known since day one that i was gonna be with you forever. i want to buy a forever home with you, i want to adopt a dog with you, i want to have kids with you." i started to tear up and as i looked at him he was smiling with tears rolling down his face.

i continued. "all i've ever wanted to do is be with you and here we are. we have been together for over 10 years now so, i think it's finally time i ask you. daniel james howell..."

i got down on one knee. "will you marry me?"

he smiled down at me and started to cry even more. "yes!" he whispered excitedly. "of course i will marry you."

i stood up and placed a kiss on his lips as i wrapped him into a hug. i can't wait to finally marry the love of my life.
