I had been pretending for months that it wasn't really happening, that I would one day wake up and my parents would tell me that it was a sick joke or a really big misunderstanding.

However, that simply was not the case and today was the last day I would spend in my hometown.

Springwood had been my home for all of my life but now, because of my mother and her job, we had to move. She had started running her own business at a very young age and it was going extremely well, well enough for her to open up another café in Pennyville.
That was where we were moving. So that that café could be as successful as the original.

I knew that I was being very childish - complaining about the move even though it was the right decision for the family. Yet, I had grown up in the same house and had the same neighbours for my entire life and as much as it was a dead-end town, it was home.

There were 2 major factors that were making me angry about the move.

1) I had lived in Springwood my entire life and I felt like my entire existence was going to be wiped out.

(Yes, I know, I have a flair for being dramatic)

2) My best friend Avery had been my rock and pretty much only friend for as long as I can remember and the thought of leaving her was utterly soul destroying.

We had had a VERY tearful goodbye - promising to call and text each other everyday. It was going to be hard but we knew that we could make our friendship work long distance. The bond had been going strong for 10 years and had survived a lot of drama. It could survive the move.

I knew it had to be done. I, Abbie Jackson, had to leave Springwood and 'pursue pastures new.'

Author's note!

Hey, Leigh here. I have seen in other stories that authors write a little note at the end. I don't really know what to say... I hope you like my story. I was sat in my room and I remembered that I once wrote a letter to my future self and I starting thinking about what could have happened if I still had it. And so the story was born. I have the basic plot scribbled down but this will very much be a write as I go along story.

That's all from me :)

Will aim for a chapter a day!!
