Up's and Down's (A Ray Ray Love Story)

*Chapter 8*

:: Chanel's POV::

          I saw the headlights switch off as I fumbled with my keys. I struggled to get the door open.

"Shit, Shit, Shit," I mumbled. I ran through the house, up the stairs to my room taking off clothes and jewlery while running. I ran in closing the door behind me tossing my clothes in the hamper and putting my blue Converses on the side of my desk. I could hear mom's heels clicking downstairs in the kitchen, which means I had enough time. I rummaged through some of the clothes I still had in my suitcase and tossed on some old shorts. I jumped in my bed with my phone and my earbuds and turned on my music. The door creaked open.

"Hola Mi hija,"

"Oh, hey mom," I said taking an earbud out of my right ear.

"How was your day,"

"Uhh, fine," I know my mom. She's trying to warm me up and make small talk so she can get all the deets on my date with Ray. Time to stop her.

"So, how was your d-"

I cut her off with a yawn. "Mom, I'm really sleepy and I don't really feel like talking, can I just tell you about it tomorrow?"

I hope I wasn't hurting her feelings, because I saw her face turn into a frown. Lately, I haven't wanted to talk to my mom at all. I'm more of a Daddy's Girl, even though he isn't around that often. I don't know why but I just feel a connection with him more. I took my earbuds out and set that and my phone on my nightstand and turned around to cuddle my pillow. I'm a cuddler.

"Well uh, okay. I'll let you sleep sweetie," she said in a low voice. The light from the hallway got smaller and smaller as the door closed.

"Mom,"

"Yes," she said eagerly with a smile.

"Do you know when Dad is coming home?" I asked.

Her frown came back. "Probably a month and a half," she said in her low voice.

"Oh, OK. But Goodnight Mom, turn off the light." I said turning back to my pillow. My room went black, and before I knew it, I was asleep dreaming about Ray.

I know this chapter is short. I just wanted to show you guys that Chanel didn't get caught, being the awesome person she is. And I also wanted to give you the relationship status between her and her parents. Its boring, I know. Some stuff will happen soon! Tootaloo!! For now!
