The Great Fire of Chicago

Now that the fire is done,

Our burdens are laid down.

Our bodies are somewhat renewed,

And the people are wiser.

No longer shall we fiddle with wood,

But we shall chisel the city of stone.

This fire has imprinted on us,

And we shall do the same to the city.
