Rainy Season

2: Friends!

In the dark I can hear voices. Laughter, painful screams, cheers of victory, sobbings, claps, cries, feet stomping, angry tones, the gust of wind...

....

It's the last day of summer. I blinked my eyes rapidly to adjust the strong gaze of the sun.

"Ah... it'll be the second semester soon.." I exhaled. "Too bad, I guess I woke up miserably late."

I turned my head towards an unfamiliar small book on the shelf.

The name and class of some students of Reinsheid? Oh, so these are the ones I need to stalk on?

"Not stalking, it's called observing, Kao." I heard a voice from underneath the table.

"Says the one who keeps on entering the school without permission." I teased.

"I do your part when you're asleep, duh!" He answered back in distress, "Don't you know, I was only looking for that boy who usually gives me milk, when the authorities came in barging; 'you are her partner, aren't you? Take her place until she wakes up.' They say."

"Pffft!"

"That's not funny, heey! Even though I'm your partner I can't turn myself invisible like you for hours."

"Yeah, yeah, I know. I'm sorry, Noir, you can lay back now. Thanks for your hard work!" I said as I rub his soft, black fur.

Noir is a black cat, mind you. And yes, he can talk. He IS NOT a real cat, but a magical cat. In short, he's a human with an ESP-kind-of power that he usually call as 'illusions'.

"Why don't you turn back to human form?" I asked, "You're much cuter and your hair is way fluffier."

"I'd take that you like me~" he replied laughing.

"Of course, who wouldn't like a cute kitty like you?"

RING! RING!

We both give an annoying look towards the phone. We know who's calling us- there is only one person that have our contact number, and that person is..

"KAO YOU FINALLY WOKE UP!!" the high pitched shout pierced through my ears. "THERE ARE TROUBLES IN THE SCHOOL, LOTS!! LUCKILY, YOUR BLACK CAT HELPED US! SERIOUSLY, WHAT ARE YOU-"

"Hiiro, that means right now there are no troubles right?" I cut his talk.

"Well, no, but-"

BEEP.

"Alright~ Let's see what I missed!"

"Yeah! Let's go, Kao!" Noir happily agreed.

We both walk to the entrance gate, and into classes. I checked on the names of the students on the book. Interesting. More than 3/4 are the students I laid my eyes on back then, before the New Student Ceremony.

My predictions are right, too. Lily Scavantine, along with Cannary Flemington, are already good buds with Prussia Flamei. Meredith Serendipity and Wendel Yerildra have become a couple, too. I don't know how, but I would really want to know.

"Not a chance!" Noir said.

"Eeh why not?"

"It's your own fault you got up late..~"

"Aw shucks, no fair!" I pout.

We also visited the other school areas, like, the back garden and the club rooms.

"OC?" I looked at the club announcement board. "What kind of club is this?"

"Let's go look then, Kao!" Noir slightly moved his ears.

"Sounds fun!"

15 staircases and 47 steps to the right, we finally reached 'OC'. It is on the top corner of the corridor. Amusing. I barge in through the door, unlocking it using a hairpin, and takes a look of the members list.

"24 members? So noisy by an awful lot." I giggled. "This club seems promising, but what are they doing anyway?"

"Nothing," Noir replies, "They just gather here because of one reason- their love towards anime."

"Ooohh, so an art division..! I already like this!" I clap my hands together. "Too bad we won't be able to join them."

Seeing me down, Noir comes near.

"Well, we can still observe. Better then nothing, right?" He tried to comfort me.

"Yup, you're right. I'll be waiting here then, if you'll excuse me." I sit on the chair at the corner of the room.

"Neglecting your duties as a monitoring agent?" Noir lowered his voice, "Plus, you miss a lot of studies, don't you?~"

I sense a bad aura about him. Uh oh.
