Chapter two: no coincidence

"What do you mean?" blurted Mugman.

"Allow me to explain. You see, tomorrow is Halloween."
"Okay, so what does that have to do with this?"

"Well-

"King dice come in my office for a second I need some help with the new contracts." The devil shouted interrupting their conversation.

"We can chat about this later I suppose." King Dice said shuffling off into their Boss's office.

Before Mugman knew it King Dice was gone. As thoughts filled his head he tried to pay attention to his work. He placed bets with Wheezy about who would win bets but still, the thoughts flooded his head. It wasn't long before people started noticing something was up with Mugman.

"Is something wrong Mugman?" Cuphead said sincerely.

"Oh yeah! Just tired! Is there something wrong?" Mugman said frantically. Sure enough, Cuphead knew something was wrong with his beloved brother.

"You do know you can tell me anything right Mugman? Don't be scared. Just tell me," Cuphead said with a caring look in his eyes.

"You always help me with my problems so it's time I help you.".

Mugman started to have flashbacks about his dream. The scarce way he felt around Cuphead was surreal. Mugman couldn't muster up anything to say or do. Suddenly, the doors of the casino flew open. It was a patron no one at the casino had ever seen before. It was another demon! The devil came rushing out of his office.

"Well, Well, Well look who finally showed up!" said the devil with a grin.

"Aren't you excited to see your brother?"

Everyone was shocked and baffled.

Cuphead and Mugman's mouth hung down to the floor.

The two demons hugged and laughed. Everyone was confused. Nobody knew of the devil's brother. Even King Dice was shocked by this.

"Oh, right forgot to introduce you! Everyone this is my brother Alloces sorry for the strange introduction." The devil said casually.

Allowed slowly walked up to King Dice. He stood in front of them and then he flashed a cheeky smile.

"Now who is this? I didn't see him last time visited."

King Dice was suddenly flustered by this comment. His face went red.

"Last time you visited It was only me working here along with some... friends. The Devil sai trying to shuffle Alloces way from King Dice. Alloces looked around the casino and then he suddenly realized that everyone was still in shock.

"Oh come on everyone I don't bite! Well I mean not all the time."

Suddenly everyone wanted to go see the devil's brother. The cup brothers suddenly started to blurt out questions that have been collecting in their minds until this moment.

"Now, now everyone gives him some space! Anyway so what have you been doing for all of these years?"

"I'll talk once you get me a couple of shots of scotch."

The Devil laughed with happiness, His brother was finally back after all of these years. The brothers tried to focus on their work but couldn't help but get distracted by this phenomenon.

"I don't think I've ever seen the devil this happy" Mugman said.

"I know, but I guess that's a good thing?" Cuphead said while he shrugged.

" I don't really trust the guy." Suddenly King Dice popped out of nowhere scaring the two brothers.

"AHH! Where did you come from?!" Mugman said startled by his sudden appearance.

"I have a strange feeling about him. Something isn't right."

The people in the casino were buzzing around, excited about the new visitor. King Dice and the brothers starred from afar trying not to get noticed by him. Eventually, Cuphead slowly approached Alloces trying to stay strong. Cuphead poured two cups of whiskey then slid one to Alloces in a friendly manner. Alloces smiled and picked up the shot glass and drank and took a sip.

"Sooooo Alloces, how long are you going to be around for?" Cuphead asked.
"Before you ask any questions I need to know your name."

"It's Cuphead, and the mug over there is Mugman."

"And what about that dice?~"

"Oh, you mean that idiot? That's 'King Dice The Devil's Right Hand Man.'" Cuphead siad scoffing.

Alloces did a creepy smirk towards King Dice. King Dice turned around to see Alloces starring right back at him.

Soon everyone returned to their daily lives in the casino. Mugman and Cuphead tried not to stare at Alloces but they simply couldn't help it. Closing time came and everyone was happy to finally go home. However, Mugman still couldn't wrap his head around the strange happenings that occurred that very day. Was he going crazy? Cuphead and Mugman usually walked home from the casino to their apartment in the city. Life in this city never really was like living in the woods with Elder Kettle.

Cuphead knew something was wrong with Mugs but he just couldn't put his finger on it. What was he hiding? The both they walked on was wet and slippery because of the rain earlier that day. The moon shined bright it the night sky. Everyone in the city decorated for Halloween but the two brothers never got a chance to put their decorations up. When they walked into the apartment they threw their bags on the floor and started to relax. The apartment was tiny but they were able to manage it with ease.

"Cuphead I'm making tea would you like some?" shouted Mugman from the kitchen.

"No I'm alright," Cuphead said trying to keep his eyes open.

Mugman strolled into the room with a glass of tea in hand. He sat on one of the chairs and sipped his tea.

"I hope I didn't make to much of a fool of myself at the casino today."

"No, it was quite alright. Though I was very worried about you."

Cuphead laughed at the thought that Mugman cares about him so much.

"How did you manage to fall?" Mugman asked.

Cuphead froze for a second then spoke in a squeaky voice.

"Ummm I was just being clumsy I guess," Cuphead said brushing it off.

Mugman started to have visions about his dreams.

"Are you alright Mugman?" You've been pretty on edge today."

"Oh, yea! I'm just really tired. I think we need some rest."

The two brothers said goodnight to each other and went into their rooms. Muman had a hard time sleeping because he was to busy thinking about Cuphead and what King Dice meant. Was Alloces somehow connected to the issue at hand?

When Cuphead crawled into his bed the pain at the back of his head got worse. He eventually managed to fall asleep but started to have a strange dream.

In his dream, he was in the Casino but it was Halloween. Everyone was in costumes but it was very late at night. He wasn't feeling too good so he went to the break room. He started to feel terrible pain all over his body.

He tried calling for help but he couldn't manage to do so. He fell to the floor. His teeth started to grow and he felt was something growing out of his head. The pain was unbearable!

Cuphead suddenly awoke from his dream gasping for air. His heartbeat fast. What caused this strange dream to trigger? Was something coming for him? Or worse... The WHOLE casino.
