Chapter 3: Halloween Terror

The city was even louder than usual. It was finally Halloween. The smell of pumpkins and candy-filled the air. Cuphead and Mugman's alarms went off. Cuphead yawned and shuffled out of his dirty room that was filled with the scent of dirty clothes, while Mugman got out of bed stretching getting ready for a new day. Instead of putting on their uniforms like any other day, they put on their costumes.

Of course, Cuphead's objective was to scare people as much as possible while Mugman just wanted to do I cool costume with his brother. They had trouble picking an outfit to do together, however, Cuphead managed to encourage Mugman to let him pick the outfits. Not knowing what to do Mugman timidly agreed.

Cuphead had gotten completely dressed in his brand new costume while Mugman was still putting his on.

"Come on Mugman! Its almost time for work and we still have to do our makeup."

"I-I don't know about this outfit C-Cuphead," Mugman said nervously.

"Awww come on Mugs! I'm sure it's fine." Cuphead said reassuring Mugman he would look okay.

Mugman stepped out rubbing his shoulder timidly.

"*gasps* OH MY GOD! YOU LOOK AMAZING!" Cuphead screeched.

Mugman stepped out of his room with a nice blue suit, fake demon horns, and shiny loafers.

"You don't look too bad yourself," Mugman said nervously to Cuphead.

Cuphead was wearing a red suit, along with even bigger fake demon horns on.

"EEeeeeE! Now it's time to do our makeup!" Cuphead squealed.

"Alright, alright!" Mugman said apprehensively.

Cuphead grasped Mugman's hand and dragged him into the bathroom.

Out of nowhere, Cuphead pulled out a bag full of makeup and beauty supplies and two wigs.

"Where did you-"

"NEVERMIND THAT NOW MUGMAN! We gotta get you ready!"

Without another word, Cuphead started to go to town on Mugman's face.

One moment Cuphead was using eyeliner and the next he was using radiant eyeshadow.

"Are you sure you know what you are doing?" Mugman said restlessly.

"Relax Mugsy you look great." Said Cuphead with confidence.

The room was a mess from all the makeup. Cuphead handed Mugman a mirror. Mugman, handshaking, took the mirror anxious for what he was about to see.

Please don't look too scary or ugly Mugman thought to himself.

Mugman nervously pulled up the mirror to his face, anxious to see what Cuphead had done to him.

Mugman was shocked! His face glimmered in the morning light as the sun rose.

"Sooooo what do you think? Did I do okay?" Cuphead said with anticipation.

Mugman stared deeply into the mirror. The eyeliner Cuohead did make a mustache that looked like King Dice's mustache. The blue eyeshadow on Mugman was radiant.

"I-I-I, I LOVE IT!" Shouted Mugman with joy.

Cuphead quickly and efficiently did his makeup. It looked like Mugman's but more fierce.

"Ready to go?" Asked Mugman.

"Hold on one last thing!" Cuphead said with a silly smirk on his face.

Cuphead skipped to the small dark closet in the living room. Mugman checked the clock over and over again worried that they would be even later than they already were.

"Okay, now I'm ready."

Cuphead returned to Mugman except for this time he had I giant three-pronged trident painted gold. This has been the first time Mugman and Cuphead have a trick or treated for a while, but when they heard the casino was participating they went all out.

"Try not to stab anyone eye out with that. Anyway, come one was gonna be late." Mugman said antagonized by Cuphead.

Since they didn't own a car they had to walk to work, but in this case, they dashed. The sun was now covered by clouds making it very dim outside. They went through the forest as fast as they could trying not to get their costumes dirty. Soon they arrived at the ominous door of the casino.

Cuphead was excited to see what everyone was dressed like. Mugman was drying to get the dry mud off his shoes from the run there. They could hear the faint sound of music, chatter, and laughter outside the door.

"You ready?" Cuphead said with a cocky smirk.

"Ready as I'll ever be," Mugman said with a light groan.

They pushed open the immense bulky door to find something quite peculiar.
