💞Chapter 5💞

you went upstairs to go unpack just like you told everyone you would but first, you jumped in the shower as you were quite tired from your flight to Canada (even though you slept the whole flught ahah)

*time skip to after your shower*
you were just sitting on your phone, scrolling through instagram when you heard a knock at your front door. Your aunt pauline left to go to the store and your uncle was at work till 5 so you had to get up to answer the door. When you opened it and saw josh, your face lit up and you remembered that you still had to unpack.
y-hi josh
j-hi y/n. you look odly happy to see me
y-i am i guess. dont mind the mess, my stuff just got here a couple of days ago and my aunt and uncle havent moved the boxes to my room yet. you say gesturing for him to come in.
j-it's fine. my family has been living in that house for 11 years and there is still a couple boxes that haven't been unpacked yet, so no rush
you and josh both laugh and you invite him to your room which has all your clothes all over the place as you got distracted by your phone.
y-so um i got distracted. my mom was calling me to ask how my flight was then my best friends from back home texted me and then i just got carried away so my stuff is everywhere and it's usually not this bad but i...

y-i talk a lot and you kinda learn to talk and breathe at the same time. it's a skill only a few can master

y-and you should appreciate my skills. that took a lifetime to learn and perfect you know
you both giggle and you move some clothes off of your bed so you and josh can sit down.
y-omg his smile is so cute. what the hell. he is in my room, on my bed and i'm joking about how fast i can talk in a single breath. what am i doing. i think i like him. yes, i like him. but there is no way he would like me back. ok, so i may have stalked his insta a little and all his ex-girlfriends are gorgeous and then there's me. it's never going to happen so what's the point?

j-omg her smile is so cute. what the hell. i'm in her room, on her bed talking about how fast she can talk. i think it's cute, how when she talks and get flustered, she starts talking really fast. i think i like her. yes, i like her. but there is no way she would go for someone like me. i'm a fuckboy. she is smart enough to know that a fuckboy like me would break her heart. but what she doesn't know is that i would never hurt her. it's never going to happen so what's the point?

you and josh sat and talked for a couple of hours until you heard you aunt pauline shout you both for dinner.
j-woah, it's 5:30 already?!
y-it must be! when aunt pauline gives you a time, it's going to happen then. to the minute. no exceptions
j-interesting. well i'm starving and dinner smells great so let's go
you hadn't even sat down yet and your uncle ronnie was asking about josh.
r-so y/n, who is this lovely boy you have brought down with you?
p-ronnie, i just told you 5 minutes ago, that's carroll and pete's eldest boy, josh. y/n met him at the airport in Utah
r-oh yes, silly me. i'm forever forgetting things like that. well y/n, it will be  nice for you to have a friend in the neighbourhood. i'm guessing you go to ontario high?
j-yup. i'm excited to see if i've got any classes with y/n
p-oh that would be good, wouldn't it y/n?
y-excuse me for a minute please. you quickly run upstairs to your room.
j-i'll go talk to her
you close your door and look yourself straight in the eyes in you mirror. you just stand there, staring at yourself until you hear josh lightly knocking on the door.
j-knock knock
y-can i have a minute?
j-do you want to talk about it?
y-talk about what?
j-about what's up? look y/n, there's clearly something wrong and i'm here to talk if you want
y-i just miss my mom, i have always been really close with her and i have never spent more that 2 days apart from her and that was torture so how am i going to survive now that i'm not even in the same country, let alone the same state?
j-i don't know. i'm not going to sugar-coat it. i honestly don't know. but me, your and and your uncle are all here for you and you can talk to any of us about anything, you know that right?
y-yea. you know josh, that was a really good pep talk. i really needed that. thank you. you hug him and he is a bit stiff and tense fro a couple seconds then he hugs you back. you both walk back downstairs hand in hand and continue to eat with your family and your new life in canada.

*Author's Note*
i will try write some more tomorrow and sorry for the late update (it's 1:46am here lol) but i may not be writing as much for the next couple of days as it is my birthday in 2 days then i am back to school. i will try to write another update in the next couple of days and will at least have a short part up by thursday at the latest.
