3. The Path

The figure lifts her hands to her hood and pulls it back, revealing her pink hair and pink eyes. She has human characteristics, but one feature separating her and us are the ears, she has the ears of a fox.
"Who... are you?" Veronica asks.
"My name is Fen, goddess of hope, watcher of the Aionios blades." She states.
"Huh?" I say.
"The Aionios blades are swords made of the Ledgendary Metal, bound with the power of an elemental god and hold a shard of the soul of the Eternal goddess."
"I only understood half of that"
"You needn't have to worry about the entire thing untill it is time, warriors."
Her eyes stay steady, unwavering.
"I think we can trust her. She's pretty serious about all of this" I lower my guard and a few suspicions.
"All right... but we just lost out on so much money." Veronica says with a sigh. Veronica floats over and hands her the sword. "If you would follow me." We follow and walk a ways onward and reach our home, the sands of fire. It is full of orange-red sand, it can be a deadly place if you don't know how to get around. The only way we survive is by traveling in packs and building our towns near water. A vacant oasis is extremely rare, if there are even any left. Our people have been here since the beginning of time, and we have adapted well to the climate. We became known through the land as the home of fire warriors, because many of our people deal with fire magic. As we walk, we come across a lava pit surrounded by sandstone. A common thing to see in the sands, and the main reason why people are cautious here. Strangely, there is a small sanstone pillar next to the pit. Fen takes the sword and throws it into the pit.
"What?!" Veronica yells, "did we just walk all this way so you could throw that fortune of a sword into a pit of lava and destroy it?!"
"Ye have little faith, fire mage.", Fen points to the sky.
