As we walk, the dried grass turns to dirt, and farther in, the dirt is stained black by the remnants of a flame. It goes on for miles, seeming to never end. "What could have happened here Skyll?", Veronica asks, her voice a little shaky, "Not even I have the power to do this..."
Veronica is a fire mage, but can also use telekinesis on herself and inanimate objects not touching a living thing. She owns a gold necklace with a shiny red gem that holds immense magic capabilities. We begin to tread slower and cautiously. As we go farther onwards, we see a blue sword plunged into the ground. "It seems that sword is the source of this...", I say
"Its got to be! It has a powerful aura..." Veronica's gaze is fixated on the blade, "I'm gonna touch it"
"That's a horrible idea"
"C'mon, I'm a fire mage!", she puts her hands on her hips. "I'm more qualified to touch it than you!"
I sigh, Veronica dashes over and pulls out the blue blade from the ground...Nothing happens.
"See, Skylly? Nothing to worry about!"
"That was very reckless, but I'm not suprised. It's you after all."
"That's not nice Skyll!"
"What are you going to do with a sword anyways?", I glance at the blade, it looks to be a mix of a saber and a broadsword. I study the unique blue hue of the sword, then it hits me. "Veronica.", I pause, "We are rich."
"Huh?"
"This sword is made out of the Ledgendary Metal, it's rare and extremely hard to forge with! Only master blacksmiths can use it, and even they have trouble foraging with it! Not to mention the insane magical powers this thing has!" I motion to the ground with my hand.
Since starting in the biz, I've learned to recognise swords and everything about them. You have to know to survive in this profession. As we are admiring the blade, Veronica spots a figure in a red cloak with their hood up, approaching us. Not sure of the figures' intentions, we arm ourselves, I pull out my broadsword with my right hand and my other blade with my left hand, holding it so the blade is opposite the direction of my broadsword. The steel gleams in the sun, reflecting the light. Veronica floats upwards with the blade at her side in her right hand. A small fireball starts forming in her left. The figure walks closer and comes to a stop. It holds out its' hand, palm forwards.
"I mean no harm, warriors." It announces in a feminine voice.
"I come to claim that blade and bring peace to the world."
"Why would we give up this blade, lady?" Veronica asks, still on guard.
"That blade has a spirit bound to it. A spirit of bravery, strength, and powers the likes no one has ever seen before." She motions to the ground, "This mark on the land is just an example of what the sword and its' wielder are capable of. I have come to re-awaken the spirit."
She speaks calmly.
"This sounds suspicious, give us proof or something so that what you are telling us is true.", I say
The figure sighs, "If I must..."
