The Tribrid (BBS X Reader)

Mono?

When I wake back up its the middle of the night and Evan is sleeping in his room. I stand up fighting the sudden urge of nausea and dizziness. I walk to the door, which extremely tired me out.

I yawn and walk downstairs and open the fridge door looking for something to eat, but not really hungry.

I grab a pudding and a spoon sitting down at the side bar. I slowly eat my pudding, it hurt my throat so I ate even slower. After finishing the pudding I felt stuffed and threw away the pudding cup, putting the spoon in the sink, careful not to make noise.

I stand up fill up a glass of water and take it to my room, hoping I won't get into trouble. I put it on my bed side table and drifted off. That whole process took everything out of me.

I wake up to Evan shaking me. At first I jerk away and swatting at him but I quickly realize I'm okay.

Jo is standing behind him in the doorway.

"Mom is going to bring you to the doctor. I'm walking Jo to school today so you have to trust her and the doctor. Okay?" Evan explains.

Since my throat hurt from not having any water I sat up and nodded. I reach for my glass and start sipping on the water.

Jessica walks up to my wooden door, knocking slightly before peeping her head inside. "Evan you're going to have to leave with Jo now if you want to make it to school in time." She says gently. Evan turned around and nodded to his mother.

Then he turns back around says goodbye and leaves with Jo. Then Jessica looks at me. "I need you to get dressed you're appointment is in 30 minutes. Meet me downstairs?" She asks calmly and nicely. Surprised by her tone of voice I look at her confused and hesitate before nodding.

I continue sipping on my water as I listening her footsteps fade away as she walked downstairs.

After a few minutes I stand up and walk over to my closet and put on a pair of black tights and a blue baggy hoodie. I throw on the first pair of socks I find and head downstairs.

Jessica looks at me and sighs. "I need to take you shopping your pants are running out of life."

Again I nod. Jess, realizing my throat was hurting, got me a waterbottle full of water, one I could suck on.

I thank her and put on my black sneakers, brush my teeth and hair, and then head out to the car.

Jessica comes out with the keys shortly after me. I sit in the passenger while she climbs in and starts the car, heading off towards the clinic.

When we get there I climb out already exhausted and head inside. She checks me in and I sit waiting for the nurse to come.

The waiting room was filling with chairs and a brown carpet. There was a little area full of toys for the younger kids. Then there were two tv's on the walls, one playing the news and the other house hunters. The end table  beside my chair had multiple magazines on it with tissues and some sanitary masks and hand sanitizer.

After about 5 minutes a nurse comes out and grabs a folder from the front desk before calling out my name. Confused I look at her then stand up and follow her back through the maze of rooms in the clinic.

She makes me stop by a little station with a thermometer and scale, and large thing on the wall, which I can only guess is for my height.

"Miss y/n can you please take your shoes off and stand up on the scale?" She asks.

I nod and take my shoes off, setting them to the side, and look at Jessica. She nods so I turn back around and step up onto the scale. I look at her paper and she wrote down 83 pounds. I look at the nurse and step down.

I leave my shoes off as she takes my temp. At first I was hesitant to let her close to me but Jessica nods for me to calm down.

I look at her and she wrote down that I had a fever although I didn't catch the exact number. Then I step up to the tall metal rod on the wall and she takes my height. Which I know is 5' 3".

After I step away from that I put my shoes back on a th follow her down the hall to my room. She flipped one of the colored flags up but I couldn't see which one. I walk into the room and sit down on the gray table bed thing with the white paper on it.

I yawn quietly as Jessica comes in and sits down in the chair beside the desk where the nurse sat down. The nurse started typing into the computer and ask questions to Jessica.

After awhile the nurse stops asking questions and I start to drift off.

"Miss y/n we need to do some blood work so I need to you follow me with your......mother......to the lab." The nurse says pausing before she calls Jessica my mom.

I nod and stand up following her to the lab while Jessica walks slightly behind me.

Once I get to the lab they sit me down and another nurse feels for a vein in my arm. She chooses the one in the crook if my left elbow and ties a plastic band around my upper arm. Then she uses an alcohol wipe to clean the area for 30 seconds before getting a needle out.

I look at the needle starting to panic and look at Jessica. She just nods at me and holds my hand. Then I feel a slight prick at the needle breaks my skin. Then I watch as the nurse draws some blood into a couple different tubes before she pulls the needle out of my arm. She pulls the plastic band off and puts a cotton ball on the poke spot pushing down to stop the bleeding. After a minute she takes the cotton ball down and wraps my arm in the rough wrapping stuff.

Jessica let's go of my hand and we head back to our orginal room and the doctor tells us to wait until the results come in.

After about 20 minutes of waiting the doctor comes back in and tells the result to Jessica. I wasn't listening get much I was so tired.

I listened and heard him say that I have Mono. I don't know what that is but it doesn't sound very good. I look at Jessica and she is talking with him. Then she nods and the doctor leaves. I look at her again before she stands up and says we're leaving.

She brings me to check out and they have me take a picture and then talk to Jess before we go back to the car. The whole ride home I must have been sleeping because I wake up again later in the afternoon with Evan across the hall.
