"I expect you to have all finished copying out the text on page 87 by now," your Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher announced to the room, "So move on to page 88 and do the same."

You glared at her, jaw clenched. If looks could kill she'd be as dead as doormat by now.

Umbridge had made life at Hogwarts close to unbearable. What used to be a place of laughter and fun was now overcome with unfair rules and unjust punishments.

Setting your quill down, you glanced at what you'd already written on your parchment, which was simply the date and class name. "Miss L/n," you heard a voice above you. You sighed under your breath and craned your neck to look at her.

"Why haven't you written a thing? Did I not make it clear that you were to copy out pages 87 and 88?" Umbridge said with an expectant expression.

"Because I own this textbook and I can simply read it whenever I want to instead of wasting time copying down useless notes," you spat, not being able to refrain yourself from lashing out on her.

"You mean to tell me that you are refusing to complete the work I've set you? Because, to go against me is to go against-"

"The Minister himself, yes we know," you rolled your eyes, not wanting to hear her talk any longer.

"Detention," the woman in pink said in a sickly sweet voice, followed by an obnoxious giggle. You glared at her, teeth grit, knuckles clenched. You hated her, and you weren't the only one.

In fact, the entire school loathed the woman, even her Inquisitorial Squad, who really only joined for some kind of power or authority.

The bell rang out and the class began to exit the room. "I'll meet you back in the common room," you told your boyfriend, Draco, as you stood up. "I'll be there," he replied, leaning down to kiss your lips before he's suddenly jolted away from you.

"Boys and girls are not permitted to be within 6 inches of each other," Umbridge stated as she put her wand away.

Draco clenched his jaw, annoyed at being pushed away from his girl, before going to leave, turning at the door to mouth, "I love you." You shot him a smile in return, before scowling at Umbridge as she led you to her office.

As you glanced around at the decor of the room, you instantly cringed. The blush walls were lined with circular pictures of multiple cats, the curtains around the windows were patterned and pink, and the carpet was a mixture of salmons, hot pinks and deep pinks.

To put it simply, the room looked like a little girl's bedroom, complete with flowers and lots of frills. The main desk in the room, possibly the only thing in the entire room that wasn't pink or flouncy, was brown wood, where Umbridge sat down on a chair behind, gesturing to the seat in front of her.

You sat down, noticing a blank piece of parchment laying on the desk in front of you. "For your punishment, you will be writing lines," the toad-faced woman said, "'I shall not disrespect my superiors.'"

She reached to her left and picked up a black quill carefully, before pushing it towards you.

You lifted it hesitantly, then paused. "I don't have any ink," you said acrimoniously. She gave you an 'innocent' smile, "You won't be needing ink."

You looked at her in confusion, but received no further explanation. Rolling your eyes, you began to write the sentence she instructed.

I shall not disrespect my superiors. I shall not disrespect my superiors. I shall no-

Your non-writing hand began to burn, and you placed the quill down, glancing down. Your mouth opened in shock as the sentence you just wrote appeared in slices and cuts across the back of your hand.

From across the room, as she looked out of the window, all you heard was a small, girlish giggle coming from the despicable professor.

"Hey," you greeted Draco as you walked into the common room. The platinum blonde looked up from his place on the couch and grinned at you, "Hello darling."

You sat down beside him, careful to keep your sore hand away from him and his eyesight. "How was detention?" He asked you, placing a soft kiss on your lips.

"It was alright. Just detention isn't it?" You played it off. As you rested your head onto Draco's shoulder, a lock of hair fell into your face, making you lift your hand to push it out of your eyes.

"What in Salazar's name has happened to your hand?" Draco suddenly said, sounding angry and reaching out to grab your swollen, sore hand. "Huh? Nothing!" You pulled your hand out of his view, and tried to hide it in your sleeve.

"Y/n! I'm being serious. What on earth happened to your hand?!" Draco stared at you, waiting for a reply.

After a few seconds, you sighed, before finally replying, "It was just a detention with Umbridge. No big deal."

Draco gently took your hand in his, his mouth forming a slack 'o' as he ran a trembling finger across the cuts. "How dare she," he whispered in pure anger and hatred. "How dare she do this to you?!" He spoke louder this time, his anger level raising rapidly as he stood up.

"Draco, it's okay. I'm fine, it's not like it's permanent," you tried to reassure him, but he shook his head.

"No, it's not okay! She can't do this to you! You know what? I'm going to get her sacked, I tell you. Nobody messes with my girl and gets away with it. As soon as my father finds out abo-" "Draco, I'm fine, I promise. If you really want to make me feel better, come cuddle me," you said with a grin, opening your arms out.

Draco looked like he was contemplating things in his head, before finally deciding to join you again on the couch. He wrapped his arms around you and you snuggled into his chest, "I'm not happy about doing nothing, you know." "Yes, well, she'll eventually get what's coming to her. For now, let's just stay here. I like cuddling with you. You're comfy," you said with a small smile.

Draco let out a chuckle, rubbing his hand up and down your arm. "I love you Draco," you mumbled. "I love you too darling," Draco replied, kissing your head.
