Dead bodies piled around, blood covering the ground, screams of pain and grief were all that could be heard. I kept turning my head and body, trying to find someone, anyone I knew still alive, but there was none. No one was here, they were all dead, and why? Because of me.
"How is he?"
What? I turned fully, not being able to identify the voice. That sounded like Hermione, but I can't see her.
"He won't leave the room. It's gotten worse."
Who? Where are they? I keep turning until everything turns black, then light.
Opening my eyes, I sit straight up, breathing heavily. What in the world was that? They have never spoken in my nightmares before. Taking a glance around, I can see Ron's bed is empty, sheets and blankets were thrown everywhere. The posters on the walls still hanging, and clothing from weeks ago still lying scattered across the floor. I took a few shaky breaths, focusing on the present, real world instead of the horrid nightmare.
"We need to do something, get him out of here for a while."
Wait, they are here, talking in real life? Confused, I let my feet touch the cold floor and try to quietly make my way over to the wall I hear the noises coming from. Pressing my ear against the thin wall, I try to listen in to the conversation that is taking place between the voices I recognize as Ron and Hermione.
"Hermione, you have to let the man deal with it on his own. These things..." Ron's voice gets overpowered as Hermione speaks. "Ron this is way past the point of handling it on his own! It has been weeks already! We are going in there, waking him up, and going out!" More inaudible bickering continues and doesn't seem to be stopping anytime soon. Footsteps can be heard approaching the room on the other side of the wall, light ones but still noticeable. They come to a stop right at the other side of the wall, just as a third voice can be heard.
"Oh, I'm sure he is already awake!" Luna's voice can be heard, cheerful as ever.
"I'm sure the whole house is bloody awake," Ron mumbles.
Smack!
A loud smack can be heard followed by a small grunt of pain. Judging from our past, I'm sure Hermione hit him for that comment. I can't help but to pull away from the wall with a slight chuckle, typical Luna. Grabbing my black shower bag, black towel, and come clean clothing, I decide to quickly head out the door to have some fun with the situation.
"Hey guys, I'm going to grab a quick shower and we can head out, alright?" I say, trying hard not to laugh at their faces. Hermione looks sheepish, Ron is still in pain but also a bit embarrassed, while Luna is just smiling at me, as always.
********
I came down the stairs after my shower for breakfast, dressed in a bit of Ron's clothing since I still needed to go out a purchase some of my own. Rounding the corner, all eyes turned to me before I could even say hello.
"You look good Harry!" Hermione all but shouts while smiling. She must be trying to make up for earlier.
"What do you mean, he looks awful," Luna speaks up, eyes staring directly into my own. I knew this already, of course, Ron's clothing did not fit me very well and I must be pale from being inside all day. Hermione almost looks offended at this, glaring at Luna and probably preparing to say something to the innocent girl.
"Luna is right, I really do need some new clothing, these don't fit me at all." I quickly speak up, trying to save Luna from a full-blown Hermione lecture. This seemed to settle Hermione down for a minute before she stood up with even more energy and determination.
"Alright then! Everyone grab their jackets, I'll grab Ginny and then we can all head to Diagon Alley." Hermione barely even finished the sentence before leaving the room, giving no one a chance to disagree. Ron, for the first time this morning, looks up from his food and speaks to me.
"I guess it's true huh, you really do marry your mother," Ron sighs, glancing at me before going back to his food to try and finish the plate before going to get ready for the day. This left Luna and me alone. I took a seat at the table, letting the silence settle in for a while. It was a comfortable silence, left me to think over things a bit. I was trying to go over the events of my recent nightmares, trying to understand them until I felt a hand lay gently on my shoulder. Looking up, I saw Luna slightly smiling at me.
"I've been having trouble sleeping lately," Luna stated. Where did this come from? Silence settled between us for a few minutes, before she spoke up again. "I've found that the wrackspurt leave me alone when I dream if I put lavender on my pillow." I could only try to smile, suddenly nervous and self-conscious of my actions. Did she know about my sleep issues? Was I being too loud, maybe waking people up? I tentatively laid my hand upon hers, a silent sign of appreciation.
"Thank you, Luna." She nodded her head and smiled down at me. Biting my lip, I decided I needed to know how she knew about my sleep habits, and if they were causing issues in the household. "How did you know I was having trouble sleeping?" I curiously asked. Before she could reply, Ginny walked into the room, slowly followed by the others. I noticed Ginny looking at my hand upon Luna's, which was still resting on my shoulder, with a glare. As I noticed this, I felt Luna remove her hand from my shoulder, waving her hand politely.
"Good morning Ginny! Is Neville joining us soon?" Luna asks with a smile. Ginny just grunts in response, glaring at me before averting her gaze towards the window. Ginny had been ignoring me lately, only talking in groups and barely even speaking to me then. I don't know what in the world I did, or how to fix it. Hermione glanced between Ginny and I, looking a bit uncomfortable with the situation.
"Well, now that everyone is here and ready we should get going!" Hermione quickly states, rushing to the fireplace and dragging Ginny with her before anyone could object, throwing down the powder and yelling Diagon Alley. Ron just stood there wide-eyed with his mouth open.
"Did my girlfriend just steal my sister?" Ron mumbled, turning and walking to the fireplace. Grabbing the powder, he threw it down. "Diagon Alley, where my sister is with my damn girlfriend!" Ron yelled grumpily. I stood up, figuring I should follow quickly before things hit the fan. Luna silently decided to follow me. As we stood in the fireplace, I grabbed the powder getting ready to travel, but Luna grabbed my hand to take the powder into her own.
