"Did you enjoy your stint as Alaric?" I chuckled as my eyes caught sight of my husband. He had just returned from a supposed "meeting" with Elena Gilbert's friends, where he had been playing the role of Alaric.

"Enough with the teasing, Althea," he groaned, rolling his eyes before making his way past me to pour himself a glass of whisky."Are you planning to attend the decade dance?" I inquired, curious about our participation.

"We're both going. I'm incredibly vulnerable in this body, so I'll need you by my side, keeping watch," he instructed, taking hold of my hand.

"Katherine was right. They're undoubtedly attempting to manipulate that young witch into killing me without the use of the dagger," he revealed, concern etched on his face."She'll end up getting herself killed. No witch can channel that magnitude of power without succumbing to death," I stated matter-of-factly."Exactly. And that works in our favor," he remarked, a cunning glimmer in his eyes. "We just have to provoke her enough to unleash that power."

------------

Klaus and I entered the boisterous room filled with dancing teenagers. "This is absurd," I muttered under my breath, though he couldn't hear me over the blaring music. To my surprise, Klaus started dancing away from me, and I begrudgingly followed suit, rolling my eyes. While I had enjoyed a good party in the past, at that moment, parties weren't exactly my cup of tea.

He came to a stop beside two teenagers. "Great suit, Mr. Saltzman," a cheerful girl exclaimed. "Thank you. How about the two of you earn some extra credit?" Klaus suggested, flashing a smile. "Of course," the boy readily agreed.

A few minutes later, I found myself standing in a corner of the room, Klaus by my side. "We have a special shoutout today. This one's for Elena... from Klaus," a girl on stage announced with a smile. "How come I never get a special shoutout from you, darling?" I pouted playfully, listening to the song that had just started playing. He chuckled in response, and as we stood there, we were approached by a handsome Salvatore.

"Special deduction... this guy is a little twisted," Klaus remarked, and I burst into laughter. "I'm sorry, we haven't been introduced before," the Salvatore addressed me. "The name's Thea," I grinned, shaking his hand. "And how do you two know each other? Alaric never mentioned you," he raised an eyebrow curiously. "I lived in London for a few years... we're old buddies, right, Ric?" I lied smoothly. "Of course," Klaus replied, giving me a wide smile.

"Strange, you never mentioned her... or London," Damon Salvatore turned around to face us. "Really?" I turned towards Damon, arching an eyebrow. "It must have slipped his mind. We were quite close back in London," I stated, feigning surprise. "And... you're a vampire," the dark-haired man realized. "So are you," I tilted my head slightly, regarding him. "What's your point?" I asked, curious about his train of thought. "Nothing... it's just..." he gazed at me for a moment, searching for words. "Strange," he finally concluded.
