7 YEARS

Chapter 1: New Addition

Another scream erupted from the room before the room falls silent for a beat, after which someone is heard saying, "congratulations Mr. Kim, you did it." Jungkook who had his ear pressed against the door let out an excited scream as he jumped up and down repeatedly. After 7 hours since her first contraction, Namjoon had given birth to Jin at 1:02 AM which meant that Jin and Jungkook share the same birthday.

The reason Jungkook had his ear pressed against the door was because he had accompanied his father and Namjoon to the hospital but was to young to be in the room as the latter gave birth. His father didn't want him to see how babies come into the world since Jungkook was at only age 7 so he was asked to wait outside when the doctor and nurses came in.

Typically, Jungkook would've been asleep by this time but he couldn't help but stay up with his ears pressed against the door as he tried to listen in on everything that was going on on the other side.

A frantic and repetitive knocking was heard causing everyone in the room to turn towards the door.

"Daddy, uncle Joonie, can I see my baby brother now? Can I see my Jinnie now?" Jungkook yelled from the other side of the door.

Namjoon smiled weakly but couldn't speak because of how tired he was so Hoseok responded.

"Hold up a sec, buddy. Let the doctor and nurses wrap up here." After the nurses had cleaned the baby and Nmajoonie up and put all their tools and equipments away, Jungkook was let it and he immediately made a beeline towards the baby in Namjoon's arms.

"My baby brother is so adorable!" Jungkook squealed as he held his arms open so he could hold his baby brother. Hoseok walked over to Jungkook from where he was standing on the other side of the bed and demonstrated how to properly hold a baby before Jin was placed in Jungkook's arms.

As Jungkook cooed and gushed over his new baby brother, Namjoon looked at Hoseok with tired and droopy eyes. "I'm sorry about your hand," he apologized as he struggled to keep his eyes open.

Namjoon had been holding Hoseok's hand to get through the labor pains and at one point, he heard a cracking sound coming from it, indicating that he had broken it.

"It's fine. I'm sure it was nothing compared to the pain you experienced." Hoseok said as he ran his good hand through Namjoon's hair.

"Yeah, I'm definitely never doing that ever again." Namjoon chuckles almost inaudibly.

"Get some rest Namjoonie, okay?" Hoseok said before leaning down and planting a kiss on his best friend's sweaty forehead.

Namjoon sagged into the bed and closed his eyes.

"Drop my baby and I'll break your neck" he threatened before finally drifting into sleep after which a nurse came in to take Jin to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

"Daddy, I'm tired" Jungkook said as he rubbed his eyes.

"Oh my goodness, happy birthday baby!" Hoseok suddenly remembered and said as he picked up Jungkook. "Let's get you home, okay?" He added.

"What about uncle Joonie?" Jungkook asked tiredly as he rested his head on his dad's shoulder.

"I called Jaehwan earlier. He'll watch you tonight and I'll come stay with Joonie." He responded before heading out of the room and back to his new home; Namjooon's house.

When they arrived, Jungkook seemed to be fast asleep so Hoseok went around to the back of the car and carried Jungkook out instead of waking him up.

Jaehwan was already waiting at the front door of the mansion by the time Hoseok and Jungkook arrive.

"The birthday boy is asleep, I see." Jaehwan said as he reached his hand out to carry Jungkook.

"Yeah, he put all his energy into being excited out his baby brother." Hoseok replied as he handed Jungkook over.

"Tell Namjoon I said congratulations." Jaehwan said and Hoseok nodded as he responded with "will do."

"I'm sorry to drag you away from your husband and son and made you come babysit Kook in the middle of the night." Hoseok apologized and Jaehwan shook his head. "Oh please, my husband and Taehyung have my undivided attention every other day. They don't mind."

"Well thanks nonetheless, Jaehwan. I'll be back in the morning." Hoseok said before turning around and heading back to his car after giving his friend the key to the mansion.
