I could tell that Cedric was feeling particularly fluffy this morning when he emerged from his dorm ten minutes after I did and his hair wild. He slouched next to me, his head resting on my shoulder and he attempted to fall back asleep where we had ended the night before.

"Cedric it's Christmas."

"I appreciate the concern Elise, but I am absolutely fine." the boy wouldn't have a clue what was going on if you slapped him in the face with it.

Harriet giggled from the other side of me, "Someone's a bit of a lightweight, Elise here is feeling dandy."

"We will not be conversing about my drinking habits," Cedric concluded into my shoulder, as I found myself stroking his back as a way to nurse him back to life.

"Well, I've got something else, but I think I may just have the perfect gift for you," I stated, before going back into the dorm and returning with a small vial.

I looked at it peculiarly, Cedric still looked at my shoulder. "What's that?"

I held it in front of Cedric's sleepily glare, "Hangover cure, it's my project from the last term. I was saving my last bit, but I think he needs it more."

It was appropriate to say that the potion worked like magic. Cedric snapped out of his drunkenness and was immediately upright, asking to be informed of the happenings of the past six hours. After we gathered all our presents in front of us, it was my turn to cosy into Cedric as he began to unwrap my gift for him. It wasn't anything too special but two tickets to go and see the quidditch league final in the summer.

"You're actually amazing, I was so bummed when I missed out on getting them myself!" Cedric gleamed, kissing me quick as his eyes beamed with joy. He quickly a well-wrapped box onto my lap as his eyes shone at me.

"Look it's not the only thing I've got for you since it's something my dad got a while back and I've never really been the one to have use for these sort of things, though I thought you'd find a use for it more than I would so you know."

I was in shock to unwrap the box and open it to find an invisibility cloak. "Cedric these are so rare, give this back, or at least to your dad he must have spent a lot on it." I instantly placed it on his lap, which accordingly disappeared.

"Good to know it works." Harriet chimed in, staring at Cedric's now absent lap.

Cedric chuckled before turning back to face me, holding my hands softly, "No seriously Ellie, I want you to have it. It's like you, rare and valuable."

I attempted to ignore Harriet's on queue "Aww" as I place a soft kiss on Cedric's lips, that lingered a bit longer than planned. Before I know it, he was setting a small box into my hands. "Now Cedric after that you really shouldn't have got me anything else, you're making me feel like I haven't got you enough."

"Ellie, I'm not going to argue with you, open the box." I laced open the ribbon with my hands as I maintained eye contact, my hands making out the feeling of a chain to find a small heart necklace. I lifted it up to see a golden heart pendant with a small crystal in the corner.

"Ced, it's beautiful, thank you." instead of kissing him, I fell into him, hugging him around the waist as he bears hugged me from above. We stayed like that for a while as he took the necklace and swept back my hair, causing soft goosebumps to arise as he put the necklace around my neck and did it up.

"Merry Christmas." I breathed softly, to which he shortly replied with the same as we watched the tender scene of gift-giving take place in our Common Room.

We were full for days following the Hogwarts Christmas dinner feast, which was as spectacular and grand as ever since there were so many students who had stayed at school that year following the yule ball. Though it got to a point where I was getting tired of the turkey-themed dishes that the meals consisted of, and Cedric was to, so we planned a trip elsewhere.
