Jungkook's eyes widened before he hung his head in shame.

"That's right, you silly man. You should have told me what you were planning, and I would have known how to act accordingly. But instead you took it upon yourself to make MY decision for me, and caused both of us unnecessary pain."

Jungkook's stomach fell, and a rock formed in its pit.

He realised that in his haste to protect his relationship with Jin, his worry at losing Jin, he had run roughshod over his boyfriend.

He had forged ahead with what he thought was best for both of them without consulting his Jinnie.

He was wrong.

Perhaps it wouldn't be so easy to redeem himself in his beloved's eyes after all.

"I am an adult, Jungkook-ah. A grown man. In love with another man. You. I know what is expected of me, and I know how to make the right decisions."

Jungkook's eyes began to prickle with tears as the rock in his stomach turned into a ball of ice filled with fear.

Was his boyfriend about to break up with him?

Please, no.

Anything but that.

Jungkook would cross the Sahara barefooted in scorching heat if it meant he could keep Jin.

"I hope that if you are ever faced with such threats from upper management again, that you will come to me so we can find a solution together. We are in a relationship, Jungkook-ah. I am yours, and you are mine. And though we cannot show it outside of our core group, I hope that one day things will change and we are free to love whom we want in the open. But until then, we have to hold on to each other, and trust one another."

Jungkook's tears began to roll down his cheeks.

His boyfriend was so wise.

So wonderful, and so understanding.

"I'm sorry, Jinnie. So very sorry."

"It's alright, you silly man. I forgive you. I knew what I was getting myself into when I said yes to you."

Jungkook laughed, and he let himself be pulled into Jin's embrace.

The next morning, Jungkook apologised to all of the members.

After hearing his explanation, the members made a pact that they would help the couple if anything or anyone tried to threaten their relationship again.

And the members stayed faithful to the pact every time.

Because there were many moments when Jungkook would forget himself, and he would touch Jin intimately.

He especially liked giving him neck and shoulder massages that would send his boyfriend into a trance-like state.

And sometimes he would run his fingers through Jin's hair or rub his back lovingly without realising it.

It comforted Jungkook – these physical contacts with Jin – and it made him feel close to him.

During those times, the other members would step in and initiate skinship with Jungkook so his actions with the oldest hyung would be quickly forgotten by their fans.

Jimin was particularly adept at doing this, and both Jin and Jungkook were grateful to him for protecting them.

Jimin was good at being touchy-feely with Jungkook, and his actions always snapped Jungkook from his overwhelming desire to hold Jin flush against his body and never let go.

It reminded Jungkook to behave himself.

Taehyung also helped by often interacting affectionately with Jin when they were on stage or at red carpet events.

Though Jungkook knew these public tender moments between Taehyung and Jin were harmless and innocent, it still triggered the green-eyed monster inside him from time to time.

During those occasions, Jungkook would often interject himself between Jin and Taehyung, unable to control his anger and jealousy.

Jin found Jungkook's interruptions cute the first few times until he noticed that after every one of those exchanges, Jungkook always became possessive and aggressive when they made love later at night.

So he had asked Taehyung to tone things down, and the younger agreed.

The pact held strong until public sentiments changed, and Jungkook no longer had to hide his feelings for Jin.

Not long after, Jungkook was finally able to make his wish come true.

He put his ring on Jin's finger, and he called him husband.

And the world learned to accept that love was love, no matter who you loved.

From the Author: Did you enjoy this story? I was actually feeling quite sad when I started writing it, but as the words flowed, the sadness went away and I found myself smiling at the things the characters said and did. This one is by far my favourite book to write. I hope it has become one of your favourite books to read.
