Baekhyun glanced over at the boy buckled in a booster seat, his fingers playing with his clothes as he was looking out the window, watching the houses of their neighborhood slowly pass by.

The brunette let out a shallow breath and rested his head against the glass of his window. After the conversation with his parents last night, he couldn't get a wink of sleep. His mind raced with possible scenarios of what his next court hearing will be like. If he is to go through with this fight for inheritance for either the money or the house, his court dates for the divorce will have to be put on hold and he wasn't sure how long he could handle knowing that he was still legally married to the man he still had lingering feelings for.

But, he was able to get some sort comfort last night as Sehun managed to sleep peacefully without any problems.

Currently, Baekhyun and his family were in the car on their way to the lawyer's place. His father had seemed quite excited about the visit, as he only spoke in singsong since this morning. His mother on the other hand seemed rather emotional about it. He wasn't sure why and he wasn't really in the mood to ask as he wasn't too keen on the idea, unlike his parents.

It was calming in the car. The radio was on a low hum and Baekhyun's parents, who occupied the two front seats held light conversation, soft chatter filling in the air. It was comforting being in the company of the people he loved dearly. There was no stress of having to deal with being judged or having to fake who he was.

Before he knew it, his thoughts had drifted to a certain man with large ears, tall stature, and a rather infectious smile. It's been a week since he last communicated with the man and a small part of him was beginning to miss the strange, gappy conversions they had. Although Baekhyun was rather passive aggressive with him, he actually enjoyed that company. Chanyeol was a man who seemed to crave any bit of attention and maybe even some affection, but overall, he seemed like a good person. Unfortunately, though, Baekhyun had a bit of an issue in trusting people, especially those he just met.

He let out a breath he didn't know he was holding and began to sulk. Maybe giving Chanyeol the chance to be friends isn't a bad idea.

"Daddy,"

The small voice immediately tugged at Baekhyun's attention, causing him to turn towards his son, "Hm? What's wrong, baby?" He hummed attentively.

Sehun's face was pressed against the glass, his seat was tilted as he pulled himself closer to the window. His breath fogged up the glass in small huffs as he stared out, marveled at whatever it was that had caught his interest.

"Look!" He chirped pointedly.

Baekhyun gasped at his son's recklessness, "Sehun! Sit back down!" He hissed and tugged on Sehun's seat, trying to pull him back into place.

The boy resisted and only pulled against his father, "Look!" He said again, this time looking back at his father with a big smile.

The brunette furrowed his brows and gave the boy a stern expression, "Sit back down first." The first question that popped into his mind was: What made Sehun disobey him like that?

The boy gave his father a pout and arched his brows before pushing against the door and letting his seat fall back into it's place. But, that didn't stop him from returning his attention out the window.

With a sigh and a reluctant smile, Baekhyun leaned over towards his son and looked out the window. Almost immediately, he fell shocked. The scenery that rushed by the glass he peered out from looked far too familiar and reminded him too much of what was once his home.

They must have been passing through a small town that connected the two neighborhoods together, because instead of there being dead lawns, lifeless houses that were all clustered together, and small shops, which was what Baekhyun had become familiarized with, there was now full gardens, houses decorated with stickers and hanging signs, and large restaurants on almost every corner. It reminded him of the places his husband would visit his friends at. In other words, it was a place of wealth.
