A few months had past and it was almost Christmas time.
Gigi was 5 months and she would crawl everywhere behind me.
Tomorrow was Christmas and dad agreed to let us open one present after dinner but he got to choose.
After dinner I carried Gigi into the living room while mom and dad finish cleaning the kitchen. it was snowing outside so I held her by the window to let her look outside. she pointed outside then she would look at me with a smile.
She had this thing where she loved to put my forehead against hers and just look into my eyes. so after I while of talking to her telling her that was snow and all the Christmas lights out there she kept putting her forehead against mine.
While that was happening mom was standing in the door way and dad had his arms wrapped around her waist.
"Look at them El. they're both ours."
"I know and they look so much alike but Mac looks more like you by the day."
"Yeah but Gigi has your eyes and Mac has mine."
"Yeah but they both have you nose your dimples and your hair."
" How about we let Mac open her present cause I don't know how long I can keep her out of the hall way."
"ok come on."
"Hey mom come look at this. Gigi just said snow."
" Gigi did you just say snow?"
Gigi points out the window and says
"Mama snow."
Mom takes her from me and throws her in the air.
"That's right. that is snow."
"Can I open my present now?"
Dad laughed" yeah but you have to put earplugs in a closes your eyes till I say."
I set on the couch with my eyes closed and my ear plugs in. dad walk in and set a box in front on me and pulled my ear plugs out. "Ok open."
I open the present to see a little puppy jump in my lap.
"Oh my gosh! y'all got me a puppy."
"What do you want to name her little one?"
" How about lexi."
Then the puppy barked as if she agreed.
"You like that name."
"El should we tell her about another present or wait till morning? Which by the way you and Gigi need to go to sleep."
"Ok night Gigi love you. Will y'all both tuck me in?"
"Yeah you can play with Lexi while I put Gigi down."
"Dad did you buy toys for her?"
"Yeah they are in that box beside the door."
I played with Lexi till she she was tried. by then mom was sitting on the couch with dad watching me play with her.
"Come on little one it's almost midnight and y'all both look wore out."
"Ok, come on lexi."
We got to my room and I jumped in bed and lexi set down beside my bed.
"Dad can lexi sleep in my bed?"
"Yeah but only yours."
Right as he said that Lexi jumped on my bed and laid down beside me.
Mom set on the other side of where lexi was. "Goodnight little one love you."
"Night momma night daddy love you."
They gave me a kiss and left mom was about turn out my light when Lexi looked at her with a sad face.
"Oh Lexi, goodnight to you too."
