Lee Jeno,
Hey Blue Boy, you were smiling a lot yesterday. I wonder why. But can I just say that your smile is beautiful...it can light up any room, lift any mood, and make anyone happy. It truly is beautiful, just like the rest of you. It's been a long time since I wrote my first letter to you...but I hope you're still trying to figure out who I am.
Smile bright my sunshine~
Signed, ºRed Boyº
Jeno smiles as he rereads the letter in class. The writer was right, it has been a long time. 3 months to be exact, and a lot has happened in those 3 months. Mark and Donghyuk celebrated their 1 year anniversary. Renjun started crushing on YangYang. Chenle and Jisung...well they were still bickering like an old married couple (even if they were 'just best friends'). As for Jaemin and Jeno, they were inseparable. Practically joined at the hip. Sleepovers were a norm for them, studying together was an everyday occurance. If you saw them you would think that they'd have known each other ever since birth- not just 3 months. The 7 of them had more or less become a small group of friends (YangYang mainly hung out with his two friends Xiaojun and Hendery).
"So everyone, as you know, the end of the Winter Trimester is coming in soon. So I decided that instead of an exam plus an essay- you all would do a partner project. This project is worth 100%, just like an exam is. I chose to pair you up in partners to make the workload easier." Their teacher smiles, eyes crinkling in the corners. The students did not respond with the same enthusiasm.
Mrs. Won coughs awkwardly before continuing. "So onto what the project prompt is. Since this is a history class, and our final unit of the trimester is Chinese history, this project is about the dynasties of Ancient China and all the way up to the 20th century. So each pair has been given a dynasty-" Mrs. Won stops when a student raises their hand.
"Can we choose our partners?" A kid named Woosung asks.
"No, I have them all picked out. And at random." She says. Woosung sighs. "Juhyun, yes?"
"Will we be graded separately, or as a pair? Like, will we each be graded out of 100%, or 50%?"
"You will be graded as a pair. Alright, any other questions? No? Ok. Now onto partners. Can everyone please come and stand at the front?" The class get up after grabbing their bags, heading to the front of the classroom. Jeno sighs, hoping he would get a good partner. He only knew a few kids in the class, including Jaemin, Jeonghan, Jihoon, and Sooyoung.
"Ok, Bomin with Junhwi. Jihoon with Seokmin." Mrs. Won starts, looking at the paper in her hand.
Welp, there goes one friend. Jeno makes eye contact with Mrs. Won, thinking that he could maybe read her mind to see who his partner was. But seeing as this was a normal classroom and not a comic book with super powers- all he got was a glare back.
"Juhyun with Chan. Hansol with Younghyun. Wheein with Byulyi." The list kept going until there were only 4 kids left. Jeonghan, Seulgi, Jaemin, and Jeno. The black haired male was beginning to weigh his options. If Jeno was paired with Jeonghan, work would be efficient- but it would be pretty awkward. If he was paired with Seulgi, she would probably just hit on him the whole time and Jeno would be left with all the work. If he was paired with Jaemin, then he would probably be the most anxious and awkward person to ever live- but it would be fun.
Jeno sighs as the final two pairs are called out. "Jaemin with Jeno. And finally, Jeonghan with Seulgi. Ok, that's all. Class will be over in a few minutes so you can come up and get your dynasty and then take your leave. We will be working on this project for the final two weeks of the trimester- so be efficient. Good luck!" Mrs. Won smiles and goes back to her desk, getting out the instruction papers.
"Ok so we got the Qing Dynasty." Jaemin says, walking up to Jeno's desk with a paper in his hand.
Jeno looks up from packing his bags. "Well that sounds easy enough. We can start working on it after school, in the library or the cafe."
"Either works for me. Come on now, we have lunch and I lost a bet to Donghyuk so now I have to buy him food." Jaemin glares at the wall while Jeno just laughs.

Jaemin was jogging through the halls, hurrying to a certain locker to hide a certain letter. You see, instead of getting to school at the crack of dawn to give Jeno his letters, Jaemin would stay behind after school to hide them. Then he would race home before the janitor locked the school for the night. He normally got home at around 7:30.
Slowing down as he reached the end of the hallway, Jaemin takes out the blue envelope from his backpack. He smiles down at the piece of paper. Even when he and Jeno weren't really close, he still knew a ton about the older. Including his favorite color, blue. So Jaemin made sure to get special blue paper and envelopes every weekend. And he made sure to use a blue ink pen to write. He also had a blue highlighter on hand if he ever needed it. Even though Jeno probably didn't care about the color of the pen ink he got in his love letters, Jaemin still did it. As they say, love makes us do the dumbest things.
Jaemin walks up to locker number 126, and is about to slip his letter through the slits in the door- when he sees that a piece of paper is taped to the locker. It's addressed to 'Red Boy'.
Jaemin smiles wide, he hadn't felt happier than that moment. Jeno wrote him a letter back, Jeno wrote him a letter back. Even if Jaemin's identity was a secret, it still made his heart flutter and his stomach flip.
He puts his envelope in the locker, takes the letter for himself from the door, and begins his walk home; smiling all the way.

Hi Red Boy! If you're reading this, then...well I guess you found the letter. Idk this is new to me. Anyways, I wanted to let you know how much these letters mean to me. You even went out of your way to make everything blue! They make me smile every morning, and you always keep me on my toes. Going back and forth on who it might be. I'm still super curious as to who you are. All I know is that you like red (I'm guessing), that you're a boy, and that we're pretty close. Well, I can't wait for your next letter.
Signed, Blue Boy
Jaemin smiles and reads the letter over and over again. He didn't know it was possible to love someone this much, but Jeno taught him otherwise. He loved the boy with his whole heart and he's been overjoyed at how close they are. Even if Jeno likes someone else, even if Jeno only sees him as a friend, and even if Jaemin was in heart wrenching pain from it all- he was happy. Happy that he knows Jeno, happy that Jeno accepts him. And he's happy that Jeno is happy and that the older likes his letters.
He loved everything about Lee Jeno. His hair, his personality, his friends, his fashion. Jaemin definitely loved his face and body. He just...loved Jeno. Simple as that.~*~
~*Here's another chapter. It's a bit longer than normal but I think that's ok. And now Jeno wrote back? Hmmmmm. Lmao i don't even know where this is going but meh- I still kinda like it *~
