Evianna's Pov
Why was it that luck was never on my side?
Huh, like I could really use some right now. Vincenzo is still carrying me in his arms and won't let me down. One, I am not the lightest person and he was carrying me like I weighed nothing but a feather!
" set. me. down. now!" I snarled, hitting him hard in the chest. Vincenzo didn't say a word.
I scowled at him and finally let him get his way, knowing it was a waste of energy to try and get him to budge. Because I knew he wouldn't. He was a stubborn, but he was hot so that made up for it.
We approached the biggest house I have ever seen, that was in the middle of the forest. Well we already were in the forest, but there was no other building or houses near this place.
This place was beautiful!
Vincenzo walked up the steps and opened the door, taking us inside the house.
We walked past a living room and a kitchen before climbing up the stairs that brought us up to the the second floor. Then he walked into a room that smelt strongly of Vincenzo.
And this bedroom had a window seat! In my old house I used to have a window seat too!
I hit Vincenzo on the chest, making sure it was hard enough so that he would drop me. And this time I succeeded.
He let go of me and I walked over to the window seat, looking out the window. There was a patio below us that had some chairs and couches on it and there was also a fire pit. But the thing that I liked the most was the view. It was stunning.
The house was on sort of a ridge, because it sloped a bit and at the bottom I could see a river. Was it the same river I had crossed that got me here in the first place? But either way the view was gorgeous.
" you should get some sleep, you must be exhausted" Vincenzo said coming up beside me, making me look up at him.
Vincenzo was definitely the hottest man I have ever seen. Its like Damon and Stefan from the Vampire Diaries all in one man. He was gorgeous.
Whenever I looked at him, it was hard not to smile, he just had that sorta effect on me. And sure enough I had probably the dumbest smile on my face right now.
" I'm not tired" I said quietly, trying to hide my embarassment.
" you need to rest mate, you lost a lot of blood and although your wounds may be healed you are going to be very tired" he said in a strict tone.
Vincenzo's bossiness reminded me of when I was a kid, when I used to get bossed around by my parents. And when I thought about my parents, I thought about my old life. And when I think about that...I begin to think of her.
I didn't want to think about her. It hurt too much.
I turned away from mate and closed my eyes trying to take deep breaths.
Breathe in
Breathe out
But when I closed my eyes, all I saw was her. Memories came flooding back and I could feel my legs getting weak and I was forced to sit down.
She would have been turning 20 years old this summer. Exactly one year and one day older than me. She would have wanted a big party, with lots of people over, which is the exact opposite of what I would have wanted. But that party would never happen, because she was gone and she was never coming back. And it was all my fault.
'Ve, you are making our mate nervous. Evie calm down' my wolf said to me and just now did I realize that Vincenzo was hovering over us with his hand on my shoulder. He did look really worried.
