Dance

So the next day went by really fast and when I talked to Hayes he said it was fine and gave me a huge that left butterflies in my belly.
I found out that Paige and Hayes were going together. I just acted like it didn't bother and it worked When school was over Luke said he would pick me up for the dance with his mom.
When I got home I jumped in the shower and when I got out i called Paige so we could get ready together. We did each other's hair and make up. She was wearing a red dress that was a few inches above her knee. It had jewels on the top and look great this her strait blonde hair. I was wear a one shoulder black dress about the same length and with jewels in the middle. It looked good with my brown long curls but Paige looked better, she always did.
Around 7 Hayes and Luke showed up with Luke's mom. Me and Luke sat in the very back when hayes and Paige sat in the middle seats of the car. Hayes was wear khakis with a nice dress shirt on and luck was wearing black dress pants on with a cute silk vest. They both looked handsome. "You look amazing" Luke whispers to me ." So do you" I say laughing. Hayes looks at us but then her quickly turns around and starts tracing little circles Around Paige's hand. That made me upset and Luke notices. " what's wrong" Luke asks. "Nothing at all" I say with a smile and kiss his cheek. I lay my head on his shoulder and I see hayes look at me out of the corner of his eyes, then he grabs Paige's hand and there fingers intwine. Now that hurt. But I hid it better this time and Luke doesn't see the tear that slides down my cheek.
When we get to the school Luke's mom tells us to have fun then she pulls out of the parking lot. Luke and I lock are arms together and start laughing and we walk into the school with Hayes and Paige behind us. I look be hind me and see that they aren't touching anymore. That makes me feel better.
Luke and go in to the dance and when the song bang bang I pull Luke with me to the dance floor. We just laugh as we jump up and down to the music. We probably look so weird right now but we don't care. I see Hayes and Paige to my left but it doesn't look like there having as much fun as we are. Yeah there dancing but not like us. I just laugh and look at Luke.
When a slow song comes on Luke grabs my waist and I wrap my arms around his neck. I see Hayes and Paige doing the same and they look happy so I just bury my head in Luke's shoulder. I feel safe in his arms so I look up and I regret it because Paige and Hayes are
Having a make out session. I want to scream but when I see Hayes light blues eyes look at me I look in to lucks dark eyes and grab his neck and kiss him. It feels good to have his soft lips against mine but then they pull away and I'm confused. Then I see Hayes pushing Luke and then punching him. I scream "Hayes stop it!" When he does I run to Luke who's on the floor. He gets up and i grab his hands "let's go" I say and give hayes a dirty look. I go find some ice and set Luke done beside me on a bench in the hallway. "Are you ok?" I ask "yeah I'm fine just hurts a little" Luke says. I start to dab the ice to his eye just he just pulls my hand away. He takes his hand and places it softly on my cheek to Whip a tear away. He leans in closer and kisses me, I kiss back trying to forget hayes and just think about Luke and his lips against mine. When we finally pull away he hugs me and I cry in he's shoulder. "I didn't want this to happen, why did he do this?" I say between sobs. Then I feel his arms tighten around me. I look up and I see Hayes standing at the end of the hall way, he looks like he's been crying. I start to stand but Luke touches my shoulder. "Stay. I need to talk to him" the he kisses my cheek and walks over to Hayes. Then luke starts yelling at him. "Do you see what you did?! You messed up her night and I thought we were friends. It's call guy code if I liked her first so back off. I can't even look at you right now!" Luke yells and storms back to me. "You want to go?" He asks me. I just node my head and whip a tear away. He grabs my hand and we walk past hayes and out side. He gives me his jacket as we walk o my house. My mom and dad when out to eat with some friends and Zachs at his friends house. When we walk in I go up stairs to change in to some comfy clothes. I put on a tank top and sweat pants. Then I grab some sweat pants and a t shirt form Zachs closet for Luke.
I make some popcorn for him and me and we go to my room to watch some movies. We lay in my bed and pick the movie after earth. I cuddle up next to Luke and breath in the smell of axe. "Morgan?" Luke asks. "Yeah?" "Umm do you want to be my girlfriend? He asks "Luke. I like you a lot but I don't want to mess this up. I love you I really do but just not in that way" I tell him "is it hayes?" He asks and I just nod my head yes. I expect him to yell or leave but no he just wraps his arms around me and kisses my head. "Your perfect. Do you know that." I tell him. I hear him laugh and we watch the movie together knowing that this we work out. Just being best friends who could cuddle during a movie as friends and nothing more.
