Aesop the Exorcist

“This will be your new home now, Mr. Exorcist…" A young blonde vampire smiled at as she turns the key to a golden knob,"...And your new room”

More like my cage and prison room.

I nodded politely at the young vampire as I followed her inside. What I see before me is this majestic room, the place was painted with royal red and gold, the furnitures glistened vibrantly standing tall against the wall, the curtains boasting its sahil royal red design, even the bed in the middle have their mattress embroidered in a beautiful and mystical floral designery, Looks like dandelions. I can’t help but to feel captivated

“Do you like it, Mr. Exorcist?” The young vampire smiled, her hands clasp together. She looked so innocent.

“I do, thank you.” I smiled at her, I placed my luggage by the side and turn to her,“You don’t have to call me Mr. Exorcist.”

“Oh” Her eyes blinked for a moment

“I’m Aesop Carl, Call me Aesop” I bowed to her

“Ah! W-why are you giving your name so casually Mr. Exor--”

“Hm?” I heard this question before. That’s right from that Vampire. Norton, was it? These Vampires sure fear giving out their names perhaps it’s because of their beliefs

“Uh…” This girl looked so hesitant now, avoiding my gaze. I sat down at the corner of the bed while I fondle my fingers against the mattress and stare at her

“Don’t be scared. I know your kind doesn't fancy revealing your names because of your beliefs, correct?” The young vampire averted her gaze to me as she continued to listen,“Your names hold your power and your life even ,that is why you hide behind your alias”

“That’s right...” She looked down at her own two feet

“It’s alright to tell me though”

“Why is that?” the young vampire tilted her head

I heave a sigh “I will be devoured after 40 days you have no reasons to be wary of me that much”

“Oh…”

“I’m the sacrificial lamb after all..”

I stare off the window and contemplate. I didn't regret my decisions though, For all I know my destiny is to keep our kind safe and to punish misbehaving Vampires. Back then, I thought all Vampires are cold, cruel and bloodthirsty beast just like the Count. Unknowingly, there are these kinds of Vampires with human reasoning and innocence, Thanks to Master Kevin’s teaching and expeditions.

I call him Master now instead of Mister since its more formal and respectful that way.

I learned so much about their kind. I guess I'm still soft to take the lives of another but Master Kevin was right, It is dangerous to take on such responsibility but this is the only way to keep my vow to myself and Avenge my family but--

Why am I wavering now?

I need to find a way to take Count’s life but for some reason I'm having second thoughts, what will happen to these Vampires without a leader, surely those whom they have caused pain will seek vengeance against them for taking their loved ones and humans will dominate and torture just the same.

A spiral of hatred and violence will do both parties no good.

A new leader? Maybe.

My trail of thoughts were stopped when the young vampire slowly walk up to me, gently reaching out for my hand, giving me a small knitted doll keychain, I look at it and look at her
