when minho was younger, he was told by his teachers that blood is red.
when you meet your soulmate, you will see.
he remembered the words of his grade one teacher, mrs park.
she was a lady he adored. she loved minho as if he were her son. he looked up to her as if she was his mother.
he never saw her again. but he always remembered her.
the beating his mother gave him was different than the others. maybe it was because he stayed the night at seungmin's without permission. or maybe it was because he hung up on her.
no.
it wasn't neither of those.
as she was beating him, she kept yelling at her son that he was the reason his father decided to leave her.
he was always the reason.
right now, minho feels like he actually is the reason his father left them. he grew up thinking he was a disappointment.
though sometimes, he doesn't feel as hated. his parents gave him a card and they always put money on it. they said they do that because they don't want to buy him anything. they want him to buy his own things.
reason as to why he is updated on the new things that come out. phones, clothes, netflix shows.
minho laid on his bed. almost lifeless.
he couldn't move. he didn't even try.
he felt some sort of liquid on his lip and cheek. it slowly ran down to his chin. blood, he thought.
he laid there for hours before deciding to take a shower to wash away the pain.
after his shower, he decides to walk to seungmin's apartment and stay there for a few days.
earlier, he heard his mother shout that she was going away for a few weeks then she slammed the front door.
at the moment, he's walking to his cousin's apartment with a bag full of clothing and hygiene products.
the building came into sight when he bumped into someone. more like the person bumped into him.
minho fell on his ass. "ouch," he said.
minho couldn't see anything. where he was it was actually really dark. the only provided light was a street light but that was at the end of the road.
"i'm sorry, didn't see you there," a man chuckled. he stuck a hand out so he could pulled minho up.
which minho gladly took. it took a while to find but he found it.
minho stood up and brushed the dirt off his covered bottom.
he then looked up at the man but frowned when he saw he had a mask on. "oh," he said. "thank you, sorry for bumping into you," minho smiled.
he guesses the man smiled to because he saw his eyes turn into slits.
"you're fine," the man replied. "i was just in a rush to get somewhere."
minho made a 'o' shape with his mouth. he looked at the time on his phone. he frowned. "it's one in the morning. a bit to early to be going to someone's house, yeah?" minho wiggled his eyebrows. "let me guess, booty call?"
the man laughed. his laugh was beautiful. he held on to his stomach as he laughed. after a while, minho started to laugh with him.
after calming down, the man spoke up, "i'm on my way to my cousin's house. i don't know anyone in seoul to get a booty call," he shook his head.
"ah, foreigner?" minho asked curiously.
"yeah. i was born in australia, moved to seoul in my teen years. i had to move back to australia because of some family issues. this is my first time back in a year and half," he truthfully told minho.
"i mean, if you lived here for a while, you have to at least know someone. besides your cousin," minho furrowed his eyebrows.
the man sighed. "i do- i mean i did," he looked at his shoes. if minho didn't know any better, he would say he sounded sad. "i do actually know three- no wait, four other people. three of them, i met here in seoul as a kid and one i just met today."
minho smiled. "well, now you know five people in seoul," he cleared his throat, "i believe we haven't officially met yet, i'm lee-"
he was sadly cut off by the mans cell phone.
he sent minho a look of apology through his eyes. he fished his phone out of his pockets and answered.
"hello?"
"where the hell are you?"
"sorry, i just-" he looked at minho, "ran into someone and started talking.
"oh well, hurry your ass up, i want to go back to sleep."
the man chuckled, "sorry, lix. i'm on my way," he hung out.
minho looked at him. "so this is where we spilt off, huh?"
"i guess so," he replied.
they started into each other's eyes. neither wanted to admit but from the moment they started talking, both of their hearts were beating so fast. they swore to themselves that it was going to jump out of their chest.
"well, um," minho broke eye contact and spoke up. "goodnight? no wait- good morning," he giggled.
his giggles are like music. the man thought.
"good morning."
they both slowly started walking different directions.
if the only light being provided wasn't one single street light and/or the sun was up, both men would've seen the world's colors.
the world did slowly change around them but it was too dark that both of them didn't notice.
in the morning, the world, for both of them, will still be black and white. both not knowing a single thing.
all that was excluded to make that happen was an introduction.
