"Utu it is time to raise the sun my child", said Nangal Utu's mother. As Utu stepped onto the terrace and spread his arms raising the sun, the sun's raising light shone on his face and beamed right back off him. He looked across the horizon and the goddess Serida glowing in the newly brought dawn. He realized she was the goddess of the dawn. Serida dancing in the dawn ,sending colors and light across the dim lit sky, seemed so joyous and beautiful. He sat and watched her dance from where he stood before she noticed him and smiled at him. His face turned red and he did not understand why. Just then he realized he liked her. Later that evening Serida came to see him, when she entered the room he had no clue what to say and realized he had fallen in love. Inanna got a smug look for it was her power that made him fall in love.

Utu couldn't believe that he himself the god of the sun and justice had fallen in love. The next few days he spent every moment with Serida, even as she would give the world its dawn. Nanna and Nangal watched their son fall for the beautiful goddess. Later that month Serida and Utu were wed.

"Serida my beautiful love, thank you for choosing to be mine. You mean so much to me." He told his bride. Every word he said to her came from his heart. No matter where he was the one thing he always thought of was her. She brought him joy and strength. Justice was his duty to the gods and the mortals. The love of his wife drove him to be do better at providing justice to the world.

"Utu my love, how are you feeling? You seem busy today, is something going on in the world?" serida asked her husband. He responded by telling her a murder had happened in the world.

A king had been murdered and it was Utu's job to serve justice for the king. If the man responsible for his death was not brought to justice, the kings spirit would never truly be set free. The next few days Utu was focused and worked hard to bring the murder to justice and once he did he came home to his wife and collapsed in her arms from exhaustion.

"Utu my darling are you okay?" Serida said to him, but he couldn't hear her for he was already sound asleep in her arms. She draped a blanket over him and left him to rest while she raised the sun giving the world once again a beautiful dawn. As the world lit up with vibrant color Utu began to stir. "Utu? is everything alright?" she asked her husband. He began to shake and wince in pain and fear. She rushed to his side and woke him. Utu pulled his wife into his arms.

"Serida, I had a nightmare you left me for another, I love you please don't ever leave me" He told his loving wife.

Serida did not know how to respond except by telling him she would never leave and that she loved him. Her love showed through in the dawn, the colors brightened and the shape of a heart could be seen in the bright shining sun.

Its light was pure and full of love and as she held Utu close his love grew along with his power and strength. He gained enough strength to get to his feet and look out at the sun.

"Serida not one day goes by that i do not think of you, you are my strength, my heart, and my love." he said to her and a smile spread across her beautiful face. He began to glow and levitate. When he reached the ground he had changed. The way he dressed and his skin had changed to a paler color. "Your love has changed me into a stronger man. I will use my new strength to protect you and the mortals of this world. Nothing will stop me from doing my job."
