Chapter 9: I'm Here. I'm Alive, Sweetheart.

Harry's pov

I was staring out the window at the many city lights. I couldn't tell where we were exactly. That is, until I seen the Hollywood sign. Chelsea and the girls aren't too far away, I thought to myself.
"You okay, bro?" Louis asked me. I shook my head slightly. I let out a sigh.
"This isn't going to be easy." I said softly.
"No, but someone has to tell her the truth and it's best if she hears it straight from you." Liam said.
"Liam! She thinks I'm dead! She's gonna think she's talking to a ghost!"
"We know. That's why we plan on speaking with her first to kind of prepare her for you." Niall clarified.

We pulled up outside of a hotel near Louis and Eleanor's place.
"If you all don't mind, I'm going to the flat to sleep." Louis said.
"That way, the four of us can share and then Louis would be with Eleanor." Zayn said. I nodded, still silent for the longest time.

This is going to be harder than it looks.

Eleanor's pov

I was walking around the first floor of the flat with a cup of tea in my hands. I then heard distant footsteps like someone was outside walking around. I went to take a peek out of the bay window that faced the front to see what or who was out there? I squinted to get a good look, and then I saw the stubble on my boyfriend's face and I smiled. I went to the door quietly, but quickly so I didn't wake Chelsea. I opened the door and Louis immediately enveloped me into a ginormous hug.
"I missed you so much." he murmured.
"I know. Me too." I said.
"Is Chelsea okay yet?"
"She's still very distraught. She hasn't left that room since she got here."
Louis grimaced before he said,
"Ooh. This sounds bad."
"Yeah. I'm worried about her. Perrie and Sophia are, too. Good thing she hasn't done any funeral planning yet."
"Yeah. It'd be very awkward hearing about your own funeral on the news."
I just put my head on Louis' chest and he continued,
"The boys are at the nearby hotel. I walked from there here. I think Zayn and Liam were gonna take a walk over here after they dropped off their stuff."
"Okay."

Just as I said that, I could faintly see Zayn and Liam walking on the sidewalk.
"Hey El!" they said. I smiled and said,
"Hi guys! We have to be quiet 'cause the others are sleeping."
"Oh!" they whispered as Louis and I grabbed his bags and brought them inside with Liam and Zayn following. Zayn shut the door behind him very quietly.
"How's Harry?" I asked the boys.
"Still upset. We, along with Niall, have to come up with something so we can kind of prepare Chelsea for the sight of Harry very much alive. Can't have just Harry talking to her 'cause she'll think it's a ghost she's talking to." Liam responded.
"Right, but where's Niall? Wasn't he going to come, too?"
"Niall offered to keep an eye on Harry for a while to make sure he doesn't do anything stupid." Zayn said.
"Of course, but how do you supposed you're going to accomplish a plan without Niall?"
"We'll text him."
I nodded just before I heard two faint voices say,
"El? Is everything okay?"
I knew it was Perrie and Sophia. I went to the stairs and brought them to the kitchen.
"The boys are back."
Perrie immediately ran to Zayn while Sophia ran to Liam. They all embraced while Louis and I made tea.

*5 minutes later*

"So you girls have been taking care of Chelsea?" Liam said.
"Yeah. I don't think she's able to care for herself right now during this time." Sophia said.
"We give her meals, but I don't think she eats them. Or maybe she only eats a few bites." Perrie said.
"This is terrible." Zayn said.
"How are we exactly going to prepare her?" Louis said to the lads.
"Well, we could just go and talk to her and hear what she knows and then tell her that Eleanor talked to Louis 'cause she had a suspicion and the suspicion is true, but we don't tell her what that suspicion is. If she asks, one of us will gesture to Harry and he will speak and see what she does." Liam suggested.
"Sounds good. I'll fill in Niall." Zayn said before he texted Niall the plan.
"I really hope this works. Those two are made for each other." Louis said.
"Two peas in a pod." Perrie said.
"Peanut butter and jelly." Sophia said.
