"Click-Clack Click-Clack" the sound of pliers opening and closing. I looked outside and it was dark because the moon was hiding. She closed the door behind her, I crouch down slowly but she must have heard me because she turned. I immediately hid under the car. Her nervous eyes gazed around but there was no one to be seen and nor I to be found. She turned around and I quickly lunged and slit her throat. Not a sound came out of her but the silence echoed in the night like a scream. Her heart gave its last pumps as the dark red blood spilled into the pavement. Red and blue lights flashing on and on and the sirens scream growing louder and louder.

I woke up from another series of nightmares that kept crawling into my mind. I looked again into my clock it was 7 AM and I was freaking late. I quickly got ready and ran to my car luckily work is 5 minutes away. I put the car on reverse and backed up  "meeeaak!!" a loud screech came from the back I quickly parked the car and ran to see. "shit shit shit"  a bloody wheel and the body of a dead cat "shittt" I looked around to see if anyone saw me but no one was out.  I quickly grabbed a bag from the trunk and scooped up the cat, then slowly shoving it in the bag. I dashed to the garbage can chunking the bag and putting trash on top. I washed my hands with the gardening hose and drove straight to work.

"Hey, Azriel!! You're late again, you do know it's not very professional to um come late," Henry said as he punched me in the arm "I know that, thanks for the pro tip," I said as a punch him back harder. Meet Henry he's my coworker and a bit of an asshole, OK that might be a little harsh he's an alright guy. I mean no one's perfect right? I made my way to the office as Henry kept pestering me telling me about his day. No one really cares about other people's days but usually, to be polite, people tend to listen: and end up giving the same basic response like, really, no way, can't believe it, Oh my God, that sounds great,  etc, etc. I  started to walk faster he somehow managed to keep up with my pace and I'm not a slow person. I dashed into the office throwing my suitcase right next to the computer. "You know we're having a meeting right?" Henry said as he looked at me "Yeah I know" I replied but I didn't.

I left my suitcase right next to my computer and made my way with Henry to the meeting room. I took a seat with Henry sitting immediately right next to me and I listened as the spokesman of the company gave a brief summary of the companies monthly percentile. I looked at the window from our fourth-floor, while the sunlight made its way, a memory dashed in like a scene in a movie.

"Good morning Mrs. Vertti,  we are doing a thorough check-up on your son, the mannerism that he presents to the external" world" is a bit ambiguous if you ask me.  We will have to study his behavioral patterns or triggers that he may have" the Doctor said, "We urge you to keep up with our appointments" he said sternly. I remember the cold air conditioning system in the hospital gave me goosebumps, I looked up at my mom she smiled back "Thank you doctor" she said and we made our way out the hospital and back home.

"Does anyone have any questions?" my mind instantly sucked me back like a black hole back to the present.

I walked back to my cubicle and attended phone calls and set up meetings for the company. As usual, Henry kept distracting me throwing paper clips in balled up sticky notes. "So whatcha doing later, what you doing later, what you doing later" he repeated like an annoying toddler. "Once I'm done I'm probably gonna go straight home, not do anything exciting you know, watch TV drink a beer basic stuff--" "dude I could use a cold one let's go, my treat man," he said as he dragged me out. "Wai-" but it was too late he had already bolted out.

"Gimme the cheapest shitt you got" Henry whispered to the bartender. "Just get me a lemonade man," I said "A lemonade? I taught you wanted a beer" he demanded "I can't drive like that" Azriel your house is 5 min away, you'll be fine"  he said"I'll take that lemonade thanks"
I left to go wash my hands, yes people still do this. I finished splashing water in my face and walked out. "Hey buddy I got your drink," he said sliding it to me. I gulped it down almost instantly, "It's kinda tangy," I said. He looked at me, them He giggled and tried hiding his face. "Dude you're a child" he laughed harder as he pulled out a mini zip lock bag. "What's that??" but he didn't respond and just kept on laughing he pointed at my drink and hid his face. "Did you just roofie me, you asshole!!" "Wait, wait don't get mad I wasn't gonna let you do this alone he said as he pulled another zip lock bag" he smirked. "Why do you have two bags you could have kept it one?" I said fumbling my words. I felt the world start to spin but somehow everything was still.

.

"Dammit!" My head felt like it was gonna explode. I grabbed my phone to check the time, immediately a mirage of messages flooded in. Henry sent a pic of me passed out and him throwing out a peace sign "What an Asshole". My phone started to ring, EM come down to the office immediately from Henry. I took a shower and got ready, I ran to my car this time checking the back. "No animal, thank God" I quickly got back in the car and drove to work. Henry was standing next to his car making me hands signs in the parking lot. " What's going on Henry??" " "See for yourself," he said as he pointed to the office. The yellow do not cross tape was everywhere, police cars were everywhere. The red and blue lights and the sirens going on and on and on.

"Good morning Gentlemen, I'm officer Eliana I would like to have a word with both of you individually if you don't mind," She said sternly "We have to clock into work ma'am I don't think we can," Henry said trying to sneak out " Oh No I do insist" the officer replied.
