Chapter 5

After 3 days - Karasuno High

I nervously got ready to go back to Karasuno High, it was the day where we found out if we'll get accepted at school. I just wore a simple t-shirt and some cargo pants, paired with simple sneakers. I brought my bag with me.

I quickly got my apartment keys, and placed my headphones on my neck. I locked my apartment and just walked to school. Passing by a convenience store, Sakanoshita Market. I quickly bought some meat bun for breakfast then jogged to get to school quicker.

I reached the gates, and quickly went to the Assembly area where the passers were posted on. I quickly checked for my name, scanning quietly. I checked...and checked...till, there, I was at the 3rd spot.

I sighed in relief, when suddenly someone spoke behind me. "You passed..huh", I turned around it was the same blonde guy who pointed at my bag 3 days ago. I nodded in acknowledgement and stretched my hand out in greeting. He hesitated at first before taking it.

"If you don't mind asking, what's your name?" I asked, politely. He simply answered with "Tsukishima", I nodded, then suddenly remembered and said with a smile, "Ahh...you're the second placer." I gently patted his shoulder and said, "Congratulations" he said a quiet thanks.

We made small talk before he had to get going. Most people have left already, I checked for Hinata and Kageyama's names. I quickly scanned at the boards...I passed by 3 boards then I reached the 5th....

Oh dear...I was baffaled and sighed sheepishly before leaving the school. I walked back home then stopped in front of the same convenience store. I scanned through the items buying some ingredients to make some mac n cheese. I got a basket and placed my items before checking out at the front desk.

The man on the desk, seems to have dyed blonde hair, brown eyes, wears a headband, and has two piercings on his left ear. He looked quite intimidating with him smoking a cigarette, he was reading a newspaper.

I gently tapped on the counter to get his attention. He quickly stood up and mumbled an apology. As soon as he looked at me, he stammered in his words, I had a hard time making up what he was saying. He seems to be trying to speak in english, I quickly shook my head and spoke.

"I can speak...japanese, sir" I was nervous my accent slipped out. He sighed in relief and quickly said another apology. After I finished paying we quickly said our goodbyes and I went home. I almost forgot, I quickly asked him where the nearest stationary store is.

He instructed me where to go and I quickly went there. I saw the shop in the distance. It was quiet, there was another person there, she has blonde hair and was wearing white polo with a sundress overall. I was quietly browsing the items, slowly going near her direction. I see the girl with me flinch, I quietly gave her some space. She visibly relaxed her shoulders.

I found some notebooks, pens, highlighters and extra pad paper. We both came up the counter, we then looked at each other, the girl quickly flinched away. I stepped back and gently ushered her to go first. She nervously did and quickly paid then left the store. I paid for my stuff as well. I put it inside my bag and carried my groceries.

When I got out, I saw the same girl she seems to be waiting for someone, I was about to walk away, the hem of my shirt was gently tugged. I turned around and asked "yes?". The girl, put something in my hand before bolting away, before I could speak. I opened my hand, it was a cute keychain, it seemed to be a cartoon character and it was wearing a frilly dress.

I found it quite cute and hooked it at my bag. I quickly went home.

11:00 am - Apartment

I was peacefully cooking my mac n cheese. When suddenly, my phone vibrates, because of a notification , I wipe my hands, and quickly check it. I pressed on the notifications, I received a private message from both Hinata and Kageyama.

I smiled and quickly replied to their messages and congratulated them as well. I went back to cooking and before I knew it I finished cooking and peacefully eating mac n cheese at home. After eating, I did some practice sets for some Japanese proficiency tests. It took about and an hour before I finished.

I stretched my body and walked around the apartment to keep my leg exercised. I played some music, I did simple warm ups to avoid straining my knee.

After finishing, I rested a bit before checking my phone again for notifications. I received an email from the school. I opened it....

9:30 - 10:20 - First Period
10:20 - 11:10 - Second Period
11:10 - 11:40 - Recess

12:30 - 1:20 - Fourth period
1:20 - 2:20 - Lunch
2:20 - 3:15 - extra classes
3:15 - 4:15 - Club

Your classroom is room number 1-5. Your books will be given on the first day of school.

Hope you perform well in class and were looking forward to the club you'll be joining.

I turned off my phone and sighed quietly, I didn't know what club to join. I want to try and join the volleyball club but I worry about my injury, I sighed helplessly and stared at my injured knee, the fading scar. I gently massaged it to soothe myself.

You all are probably wondering who the girl was, it's Yachi, I feel like you could guess already. Actually the keychain wasn't meant for our reader, Yachi was supposed to give a different one but she accidentally gave the one with a girly design. She only realized once she got home. She was panicking thinking that the reader probably threw the keychain and cursed her for such a horrendous gift. But the reader found the keychain cute.
