-Jasmine's POV-
I was organizing my closet, trying to hang up my last few shirts. Because my dad and I are always moving, I make sure not to buy too many clothes. They would just end up lost or forgotten if I carried them with me state to state. At least I'm lucky this time to move in before the new school year, so it won't be as hard to adjust to.
"Jasmine, come down here! We have guests!"my dad announced from downstairs.
I stepped away from my closet, confused. We just moved here 2 days ago. Why would we have guests? I quickly fixed my hair and walked down the stairs.
I saw a boy around my age and who I guess was his father standing by the door. The boy gave me a shy smile, and I practically melted. He was cute, really cute.
"This is my daughter, Jasmine. Jasmine, this is Ricky and his dad, Mike Bowen. They live next door,"Dad introduced.
I stood beside my dad and smiled. "Hi, nice to meet you,"I said.
"We just wanted to come by and welcome you to the neighbourhood,"Mr. Bowen said.
Dad replied,"That's very nice of you. Why don't you guys stay for dinner? I was gonna cook, but I don't really have the kitchen ready yet. So we just ordered pizza."
Mr. Bowen laughed,"I know the feeling. We'd be happy to stay, right Rick?"
Ricky just looked at me and smiled. "Yeah."
Dad clapped his hands together. "Great, I'll call you two over when the food's here. Get to know each other until."
I glanced at Ricky, who was just staring at me. Kinda weird, but okay. "Uh, yeah sure. I guess we'll be in my room,"I said.
I motioned for Ricky to follow me, and we went into my room. There were still boxes and clothes everywhere, making me a bit embarrassed. "I'm sorry about the mess, I'm still unpacking,"I explained, kicking a box to the side.
"It's okay, still cleaner than my room,"Ricky chuckled, taking a look around.
I awkwardly sat on my bed, and he took a seat at my desk. He spun the chair around to face me and asked,"Uh, where'd you move from?"
I played with a piece of thread sticking out of the bed sheet as I answered,"I've moved around a lot in the past few years because of my dad's job. This is actually my third time moving this year, but I just moved from San Francisco."
Ricky's eyes grew wide. "Wow, that's a lot of moving."
I laughed lightly. "Yeah, it is. But I guess I'm used to it now."
