I woke to the screams and yells of my neighbors, I looked out of my window to see fire burning down houses and a pair of wagons that I recognize as the ones used by the royal army. I run to my parents room trying to find them. I burst into their room only to find an empty bed. I run out of their room and run to the front door to see if their outside. I run out to see smoke from the burning houses covering the breaking dawn like a blanket of darkness. I see my parents being held back by guards while the rest of them are trashing houses before they start to burn them, apparently looking for something without having much luck.
Then a guard spotted me. He grabbed my by my arm and took me to the general in charge. "This is the girl we've been looking for." I heard footsteps coming from behind me. I tried to turn but the guard pushed me back, then I see him. Another guard brought my one and only friend who was knocked unconscious in front of the general. "We got what we came for, pack them up and burn the rest of the houses."
