Portrait
This will be my most magnificent work to date. All the plaudits and prizes will pale into insignificance next to this masterpiece. A photograph of myself pinned to the easel, I work feverishly, driven to finish.
Unlike pastels or watercolours, this most unusual medium does not lend itself to much alteration. Working at speed, I can see the portrait taking shape before my eyes…
…and so it is complete. My final and best piece of work. The ultimate self portrait painted in the ultimate medium; my own life’s blood.
Posthumous fame will follow… I can rest in peace at last…
