Day Two: Skipping and Drinking

I barely got sleep when the alarm woke me up. Damn you, Azrail, Kasalanan mo to leche ka. Second day para kumbinsihin si Bryce.

Operation: Be friends with Bryce.

Being friends is the first stage of everything. Kung magiging friends kami, surely, pagkakatiwalaan niya ko, then mag oopen up na siya tas bibigyan ko siya ng advice. Tada! Problem solved.

Male-late na ko! Takte bat kase puro Bryce.

Nagmadali na kong maligo at magbihis. Bumaba ako at nakitang nagluluto si mommy habang si Wade naman ay nag iintay ng pagkain sa table.

"Mommy, una na po ako!" Sabi ko at tumakbo papunta sakanya at hinalikan siya sa pisngi. "Hindi ka na mag-aalmusal?" Tanong niya but I just ignored her and ran to the chair where Wade sat, placing a light kiss on his forehead. "Bye ate!" Ngiti nya sakin.

I went out of the house and walked to school. Hugging some books to my chest as I stopped in my tracks, narrowing my eyes on a very familiar guy looking through the gates of the school.

"Someone's missing school" I said while smirking. Nilipat niya sakin ang atensyon niya at umiling. "I don't" maikling sagot nya sakin.

"Sus, eh bakit ka nandito?" Tanong ko sakanya. He just rolled his eyes and started walking away.

Taray, attitude ka siz?

"Teka lang!" Sabi ko at tumakbo papunta sakanya. Huminto siya sa paglalakad so I could catch up. "What now?" He asked. I sensed a tint of irritation in his voice.

Sucks for you but you'll be stuck with me for a little while.

"Punta tayo sa Casa Nieva" sabi ko sakanya sabay turo don sa Café na katabi lang ng school. Then I just realized, I probably looked like a freak talking to the air. I took in my surroundings and sighed in relief when I saw no one was there.

"No" sagot niya without even thinking twice. "Pleeeaaase" I said giving him my best puppy eyes.

"No"

"Why not?"

"Because I don't want to" he answered bluntly.

Napa-kamot ulo nalang ako out of frustration. I guess befriending him wasn't as easy as I thought.

"You should be grateful, I'm skipping class for you" sabi ko sakanya. He rolled his eyes and placed his hands inside his pockets.

"You should also be grateful since I'm wasting some time on you." He said while smirking.

Asshole.

Sinamaan ko siya ng tingin. Sorry but, I'm not gonna give up that soon. Naglakad ako palapit sakanya at hinila ang kamay niya.

"Tara na kasii" pagpilit ko sakanya. He took his hand out of my hold which caused me to stumble a bit.

"Don't you realize that you look like a freak right now?" He glared at me.

Ha! I realized that before you did!

"I know but I don't mind" I said shrugging my shoulders. "Tara na kasi, para naman may purpose yung pag-absent ko." Dagdag ko. "tss, oo na." He finally gave in. I internally cheered as we walked inside the café.

"I'll get a cup of hot choco, ikaw?" I whispered. "You'll look less like a fool if you only have one cup in front of you" I chuckled at his reply.

"Awe, Bryce cares about my reputation" I said teasing him. Umiling lang siya at naglakad papunta sa table na malapit sa sulok at naupo.

"Good morning miss. What can I get for you?" Sabi sakin nung babae na nasa likod ng counter. "I'll get a cup of hot choco please, thanks" I smiled at her. I paid for it and went to where Bryce was sitting. Luckily, wala masyadong tao since it's a school day.  Umupo ako at tinignan si Bryce. "Laro tayo 20 questions" sabi ko sakanya. He just rolled his eyes but nodded anyways.

Those eyes will pop out of their sockets if you keep on rolling them.

"I'll go first, how old are you?" Tanong ko sakanya. "17, ikaw?" Sagot nya.

I didn't get to answer dahil lumapit sakin yung waiter para ibigay ang order ko, I had to pretend that I was alone. Nung nakaalis na siya tsaka ako sumagot.

"16, did you know me before I stepped inside your room?" I asked. "Yes" maikling sagot niya. "When?" Tanong ko sakanya nang nakakunot ang noo.

"One question at a time Madeline. Why did you go to the hospital?" Tanong nya sakin with crossed arms. I sipped my drink and answered. "Someone ordered me to" I said being honest.

"Sino?" He asked tilting his head in confusion. "One question at a time Bryce" I mocked him and smirked. Tumayo ako at tumingin sa likod ko, nakita ko yung waiter kanina tsaka yung babaeng kumuha ng order ko. They were whispering while staring at me.

Edi ako na yung baliw na nakausap sa hangin, pake ko niyo baaa.

Tumingin naman ako kay Bryce at sinenyasan siya na sumunod sakin. Thankfully, he followed. "Pupunta ka ba sa ospital or ano?" Tanong ko sakanya nung nakalabas na kami.

"No." Sabi niya. "Well, anong balak mo?" Tanong ko naman sakanya.

"None of your business" he said bluntly.

Ang sungit naman neto tengene.

May sasabihin sana ako kaso I was interrupted by my phone ringing. Tinignan ko ang caller ID. Si Liliana. Sinagot ko ang tawag niya at nilayo yung phone sa tenga ko dahil sa nakakarindi nyang boses.

"Hoy bakla, tangina mo! Bat ka umabsent ha! May shota ka na noh! Andame mo nang tinatago sakin ha! Hoy sumagot ka!" Sigaw niya.

"Tanga, ang OA mo. Masama pakiramdam ko. Papasok ako bukas." Nagsinungaling nalang ako. Nagi-guilty ako pakshet! Ganito talaga kami mag usap ni Liliana. Mura here, mura there, mura everywhere.

"Siguraduhin mo lang na papasok ka bukas, bwiset ka! Wala akong makadaldalan sa room" satsat niya sakin.

I shook my head and smiled. Liliana is a shy type of girl pero pag nakilala mo na siya, makikita mo yung wild side niya. Napaka ligalig nyang babaeng yan.  Minsan bigla nalang yan magtatalon talon dahil uminom daw siya ng Milo, jusmeyo marimar.

"Papasok na ko bukas, promise" sabi ko sakanya at binaba ang tawag. Lumingon ako kung saan nakatayo si Bryce kanina, but he wasn't there. I groaned and walked my way back home.

That sneaky lil thing.

Paano ko kaya makaka-close si Bryce.
