Hope you enjoy !

In an auditorium, crowds of people murmuring to their neighbors were impatiently awaiting for their one man show to start as the host was checking on his guests...

Said host, a middle aged man in a dark blue suit, knocked on a door to a waiting room behind the set, waiting for an answer from his guests. He quickly received an answer from the people inside and got in, plastering the most superficial smile on his face.

A man and a woman were waiting inside, sitting in a couch, both of them smoking a cigarette. The man quickly got up, seeing their host come check up on them, while the woman stayed on the couch, not paying much attention to the host.

"Hello Larry, it's good to see you again.", the man pulled his cigarette out of his mouth with two fingers and held his other hand out for a shake, only to get ignored by the host and have the woman sneer at them.

"Lady Diane Marissa! Mister Juan Pakar. It is good to see the both of you together again here.", the host put his arms akimbo, keeping his fake grin. The woman with sandy hair, known as Diane Marissa just hummed in approval.

"Thank you for inviting me here--", Juan's stranglated voice got cut off by the host's.

"Anytime, I don't have much time before the show starts, I'm just here to ask if everyone is okay? The show starts in five minutes and knowing the controversy surrounding you, you might not be too keen on going firs-", the host stopped talking when Juan lift his palm, telling him not to worry.

"Alright, the show starts soon, somebody will come get you, you'll be our first guests, I'll see you in a bit.", Larry pat Juan's shoulder as he left the green room, closing the door behind him. Diane stretched her arms and yawned.

"Well... He seems happy to see you.", Diane said, getting up and scrubbing the cinder from her cigarette off her pants. "Did I really have to come?", Diane walked towards Juan.

"Of course, we're here to promote my book, which you helped a lot with.", Juan answered, looking back at his old friend, who seemed unconvinced.

"Right... I just posed for the cover image, I think you're scared.", Diane uttered sneering at him.

"Hmph, what makes you think that?", Juan crossed his arms and gave her a doleful expression.

"You smoke more than I do when you are..."

"You're just seeing things."

"I've known you for long enough, I can tell when you're not composed.", Diane said, as someone opened the door again and poked their head in.

"Juan Pakar ? Diane Marissa ? Please follow me."

The two followed the employee to a part of the stage covered with large colorful curtains. The show had already started on the other side of the curtains as the spectators were faking laughs exactly like that one annoying laugh track and applauding at everything Larry was saying.

"Now, to start the night, our first guests, the 'somewhat' famous actor and now writer--apparently...", Larry says, making a grimace the audience laughs again. "Here to promote their first book 'Love asks...', please welcome Mr. Juan Pakar, accompanied by none other than the queen of fashion, Diane Marissa!", he introduced the two as the curtains went up and as the two made their way towards the couch next to the host's desk.

The audience's reactions were mixed, some cheered and some booed at them. Diane didn't really care, Juan however was shaking badly.

Diane waved at the audience with a radiant smile, making the negative reactions calm down. She then sat down next to the other guest on the couch and minded her own business.
